I saw it the first time in Hightstown, and mistakenly thought that it would be in IMAX here at the Hamilton AMC. I was a little let down that it wasn't, but that hurt faded quickly. This is definitely in my top 3 favorite movies of all time. The preliminary show of the history behind the movie is great. I've got to see this on an IMAX screen though. That would blow my mind. I suppose my favorite thing about the movie is the music.

best movie ever made it was wonderful seeing it on the big sreen. my mother aunt and myself went see it. being able to see on the big screen was joy for me i have low vision i was able to see things on screen i missed watching on tv. thank you so much for doing it . i hope you do it every year on the anniversary.we had to drive an hour away to see it but it was wirth it and would do it agin.

I was so excited to go see this in HD and on the big screen and it exceeded my expectations. I think they did a great job with the the digital remastering and sound.... It's not going to be perfect when the movie is 70 years old. I loved the short intro with the movie history, it built the excitement and I learned things about the movie I never knew before. As for the movie itself, seeing it on the big screen was one of the most magical beautiful moments of pure happiness in my life. All the pure childlike joy the Wizard of Oz creates took hold of me again and like never before. On the big screen I noticed things I never noticed before. I only wish they would show it on the big screen more often so everyone could see it!

The chance to experience the Wizard of Oz on the big screen was one of the best movie experiences I have ever had. There are many small details in the film that I had never noticed in the hundreds of times I had seen it on TV; even on my 52" flatscreen. Even though I would not have missed this for anything, I do have a few minor complaints. The film was advertised as being showh in HD, and while the quality of the film was good, it was not quite what I am used to at home on my TV. That brings me to the audio. I can see that a lot of money was invested to upgrade the film visually, but the sound did not seem like it received the same treatment. At times it felt like the sound was coming from my parent's old console TV.

I remember this was one of my favorite movies has a child, and wanted to now share it with my children. It was amazing seeing it on the big screen. My mom, children, and husband, we all went together. Everyone loved it and it was a wonderful experience that I got to share with my loved ones. It was great listening to all the children in the theater singing along to the songs. We got there early as to get the seats we wanted, but there was trivia from the movie on the screen, which was fun for everyone. I would definitely recommended this movie to anyone.

We arrived at 6:00 before the 6:30 show to get good seats. We sat through ads & trivia until 7:45. By that time half the people with little children left and the others were sleeping. 30 Minutes later when the actual movie started we were all angry about the situation but Island 16 Theater in Commack did absolutely nothing. Besides that watching the Wizard of Oz on big screen was amazing, I hope you can do it with more classic films. Only make sure the theater makes it an enjoyable experience, especially for the kids.

This was presented as a "Newly Remastered" version presented for the first time in "High Definition".
First off the colors were off and it was hazy, I saw presentations with better color on my TV back in the 70s.
Through the black and white section there was a computer like graphic in upper left of the screen, seven minutes into the film it froze. The theater came in and gave the entire audience passes for another movie. This seemed planned because after the passes were handed out it started again.
The 10 minute history/mini making of was not necessary prior to seeing W.O.O.
I would have enjoyed it on my big screen LCD at home more.
