Very good. The best use of 3D I have ever seen . Not over done used to make back ground realistic. I am a big reader of science-fiction and the plot reminded me some what of both the " Dragon Riders of Pern " series and the " Dune " series ."

watching the movie in 3D was much better than the regular movie. I was disappointed in the plot and storyline. I thought the love scene was tastefully done. I would recommend it to anyone over the age of 17; too violent for young ones.

Wow! The enjoyment of this movie will be with me for a long time. The idea of spending time in a fantasy world, while taking no risks was the best part. Magic was what I experienced. Yes, the special effects are awesome, but the plot is a bore (we've seen it before) and the dialogue amateur. It is essentially "Dance With Wolves" in 2034. I would recommend it because it is worth seeing what all the hype is about, but be prepared, it is also too long! James Cameron is not as wonderful as he thinks he is!

For sci fi fans, this was an amazing movie experience. Great characters, exquisite alien scenery, fascinating culture a bit reminiscent of every sci fi movie made, and an impressive adventure. Be forewarned, though, there are some pretty intense battle scenes and agressive characters for any child under 12 and even a bit too intense for our 13-year-old. My husband observed that this was Pocahantas and Star Wars combined. I would add Starship Troopers. Also, there was a little bit too much black and white to all the characters, they were either really good and brave or really exploitative and nasty. Nonetheless, it was a really fun movie experience, and I would definitely seen the film again.

Given all the hype about this movie I expected better. The special effects were great and it was visually beautiful, but it's unfortunate that some of the creativity that went into creating the artwork didn't go into the plotline. The plot was very simplistic, black and white, "good" (scientists and indigenous peoples) vs. "bad" (big business and military). Come on, NONE of the indigenous people wanted to make a fortune from the natural resources on their planet? NONE of the business men/ex-military forces were concerned about destroying a culture to get at the resources? This could have been a much more interesting movie.

The question was "Would I recommend this movie". The answer is that I have already seen it twice (with friends and family both times) and I would love to see it again! Special effects are outstanding, 3-D is outstanding, and the actors are outstanding!!! I think it is the best movie out in a very long time. The effects in this movie were great. I would definetly recommend this movie to family and friends. Even without the 3D glasses on the movie was colorful and full of action. My 20 year old son has CP and he couldnt take his eyes off the screen. But I wouldn;t recommend taking your 5 year old cause it is a long movie and they cant sit still that long.

The first cartoon sex scene since Heavy Metal..was it needed considering all the kids that saw this? I never like the thought of movies produced in America that describe "Americans", even if using "corporate America" as the bad guys and make killing ex American service members, justified. This is the second time we have seen Avatar in 3D. This time we took our nephew and he thought it was great. The story line is touching and the special effects make ti the best movie we have seen in many years. We would go again just because of the 3D. Can't wait to see some more 3D movies
