After all the hype, I was slightly underwhelmed, but with that said, I would still recommend this movie. It was masterfully made, and had a strong (albeit heavy-handed) theme about coexisting peacefully with the environment. Wasn't too happy about not having the option to see the movie at my local theater without 3-D. Don't think it's necessary.

Often movies show you their best scenes in the trailer...in this case they were just teasers. Stunning CGI graphics seamlessly mixed with a nicely acted movie. All 2:45 of the movie was in smooth 3D which really made the movie pop and no on/off of the glasses.

We normally wait for movies to come out on DVD, but we enjoyed seeing Avatar in the theater. We went ahead and saw it in 3D, which was cool. But I'm sure it's just as good in 2D. The plot is not very sophisticated, but the special effects and the world Cameron created for Pandora are definitely magical and impressive. It's a nice story, even if it isn't very deep or complicated.

Yes, it was a long movie to sit through but well worth the time, even for someone who is well past their teenage years, lol. Incredible effects in 3D, good story plot and good acting make it one of the best movies I've seen so far.....go and enjoy!

Very enjoyable movie. The special effects and world that Cameron created were the stars of this movie. It was long however and perhaps could do with some editing.
