The movie is visually fantastic. The attention to detail is exceptional, better than any other movie of its type (if there is one). No question this movie will wow the audiences for ages to come. I never had time to remember that this world wasn't actually real. I didn't notice the time go by. Although, the story has been done before, the characters are so new, I didn't notice that either. It was beautiful to watch and left me with a beautiful feeling when I left.

What a fantastic movie! The special effects were awesome! I loved watching it in 3D. I felt like I could reach out and touch those beautiful flowers. Awsome, one the best movies I have seen this past year, right up there with new Star Trek. In 3D it was like you in the movie not just watching it. As I told my husband when we left the theater last night: "There is no way I could describe this movie to anyone to do it justice - they would just have to see it for themselves". But since I'm writing a review, I WILL say that I felt like I had just been on the most spectacular journey of a lifetime! The imagination that went into it; the beauty and the incredible animation 'art' of the film was dazzling! It was worth every penny we spent for the tickets and I couldn't imagine seeing it any other way but 3-D except in an IMAX theater also in 3-D! :)

Beautiful movie in many places. Way too violent in others. Seemed like a techno version on Pocahontas. The idea that violence was a good way to deal with the invader's brutality seemed short-sighted. Surely the Nabi could have come up with a better solution.

This was our 2nd attempt to see Avatar! First time we got there it was sold out. After going to all the trouble of a babysitter! Our next attempt was yesterday. Again went to a lot of trouble to have our child looked after. I bought tickets online in the morning for an afternoon showing, got to the theater earlier this time, got snacks & drinks. Went to the theater only to find every seat already taken even people sitting on the steps in the aisle! We got a refund and left, not getting to see this movie AGAIN. This was an AMC theater. I didn't think you were allowed to oversell seats at the cinema? Disappointed X2.
There isn't a "Don't Know" choice for the film. I'm sure it's an excellent film but how would I know?

Overall, it was an entertaining movie from start to finish, but I felt like it copied too much from The Matrix, Jurassic Park, Braveheart, Lord of the Rings, Starship Troopers, the Star Wars trilogies, Lost, Gorillas in the Mist, and every James Cameron movie. The 3D effects were good, especially the parts where you were looking through glass, but they still just look like layers of 2D. Make sure you get there early and get a good seat if you see it in 3D. Otherwise, parts of it will be blurry.

I thought the special effects were beautiful but could have done without the 3D effect of jerky movements. My husband mostly liked the movie and the 3D effects but thought the story line lacked originality for the five star.

Avatar 3D was the best movie experience of my life! I am in LOVE! the imagery is stunning it's a MUST see in the theatre because the 3D takes the beautiful scenery to the next level!! And the acting was great. And the characters were wonderful. Way to go James Cameron!!

This was a fantastic movie especially in 3D. The story line keeps your attention and the effects are awesome! I do recommend getting there early so you can get a good seat. We arrived 15 minutes early and ended up sitting on the second row which was too close but we still enjoyed the movie.

The 3-D effects in this movie are incredible, but they tended to wain during the love scenes, which were totally unnecessary to the plot. The actors were all good and the graphics were definitly worth seeing the movie for. It ran a tad long in the middle, but it felt like a normal 2 hour movie instead of the almost 3 hour running time. Good to see. Ends happy.
