Wow. That's the first word that comes to mind after watching Avatar 3D. It was a entertainment experience like none other. The 3D environment was incredible, the story was great and the 2 hours and 40 minutes flew by. James Cameron has taken movie making to a whole new level - again. I'd recommend it to anyone. I'm going to go see it in IMAX 3D next!

James Cameron can obviously deliver a visual masterpiece. Few, if any, directors can be said to do better. What separates Cameron from his contemporaries is that his blockbuster epics are backed by a strong characters and compelling stories. "Avatar" hits many relevant political themes from environmentalism, market capitalism, colonialism/neocolonialism, and the global war on terror, and it does so brilliantly. The 3-D effects are a revolution in film-making, and the film itself is a revolution in social and political thought.

We do not normally spend money going to the theater, but Avatar in 3D seemed like a movie that might be worth it. We were not disappointed. The graphics were amazing - I likened it to "Lord Of the Rings" on steroids - it was beautiful. The story line was good enough to keep you interested for almost 3 hours - my friend called it a SciFi chick flick. There is something for everyone.

In my humble opinion this has got to be the best movie I have seen. The effects were nothing short of amazing and at times I found myself almost dodging something that seem to come from nowhere!! Loved the subject line.. seems so close to the real world it was almost heartbreaking. I read some of the so called "critics" reviews and like most times disreagarded what they had to say. I was amazed at how fast the time actually went and when the end came I wanted more!! I recommend this movie to everyone, in fact going back next weekend with a friend!

This movie is GREAT ! I remember when STAR WARS opened with all of it's hype. AVATAR will take movies to the next level of enjoyment. 3D has come a long way and AVATAR's graphics are awesome. Even those, who don't generally appreciate SciFI, will enjoy the visual aspects of the movie. Chose seats as close to the screen as you think possible, then move a couple of rows closer. The movie will come off the screen to you. I'll probably see you in the theater (again and again)..

This was by far the most thought-provoking and exciting movie since the first matrix. I was not really excited to see it but my brother dragged me to the EXPERIENCE. I was blown away by the reality of the story, the spirituality of the characters and of course by the graphics. Best movie to date.

This movie took my breath away. The special effects were unbelievable. This has to be the most monumental event in special effects to date. ...but so what? With it's overlong action sequences and minutes upon minutes of slow motion scenes the movie was about an hour too long. I was reminded of theme or scene from many movies included but not limited to, Dances With Wolves, The Last Samurai, Peter Jackson's King Kong, Aliens, some anime title and even a scene from Point Break. Yes, I feel this movie will change the way movies are made, but so did Tron...and that sucked too.

This is a breakthrough movie, a visual feast plus an exciting story. Even though it is long, we were unaware of the time and were surprised when it seemed to end so quickly. Our party of five, from the 9-year-old to the 69-year-old, enjoyed it immensely. Even the 69-year-old, who is not quick with compliments, thought it was a tremendous movie. We are all recommending that our friends and family go and see it because it sets a new standard in movie viewing. This is a movie to watch with someone whom you love. The seamlessly merged live action and computer generated graphics literally create a whole new world. This movie was great to watch. The visual effects were stunning...best I've ever seen. I did see it in 3D, but the glasses were a bit of a headache. The screen was a smaller screen so I do believe that it was meant to be seen in IMAX or on a much larger screen to get the full effect of the 3D images that were popping out. I think that you could see the movie in 2D and get just as good as an experience if you aren't seeing it on a giant screen. The story was pretty good and the characters were interesting. I would recommend this movie to anyone and not just someone who likes scifi.

Not normally a 3D fan - but WOW - felt like I was part of the movie - no silly 3D 'gags' - just part of the movie. The story was pretty obvious - bad corporation destroys environment - but the Avatar world was amazing and felt like a living dream. Amazing movie!

We say the movie in "IMAX 3D". It was worth the $1 upgrade. This was not your normal cheezy red & green paper glasses. The visuals were simply the best I've ever seen. The perfect combination of HD & 3D. The story was one that has been told before. But, the characters and evnironment were simply emersive. The sound was truly impactful, and not over powering. I can't wait for his next film!

An utterly gorgeous visual experience. I'd love to watch this with the sound off, to spare myself the derivative, formulaic plot, the bombastic soundtrack, and all the stuff that Just Doesn't Make Sense.
