This movie was magnificent! The story line was excellent. Even though it was 2 hours 40 minutes you really were absorbed in the story. The 3D effect was awesome. Beautiful colors, the intensity of the weapons, the animals.... a MUST see!

Definitely worth seeing but don't expect a decent screenplay (it is horrible) or acting (barely acceptable). And the ending is so darn Hollywood - overdone and tiring. But the movie is beautiful and it is worth the time, money, and poor movie elements in order to visit this lovely planet.

A visual thrill ride, inspiring for being so innovative with digital technology and effects. Story is very thin, lots of tired stereotypes and big holes in the predictable plot. Having seen a few 3D movies in my lifetime I can tell you that none of them ever lived up to the hype, until now. AVATAR has taken 3D to a whole new level and made this a memorable (in a good way) movie experience. Kudos to all the techs that made this happen and work so well. I look forward to the previewed 3D movies that will soon be released. The story of AVATAR was also well done though a bit long. But who can blame Cameron for not wanting to cut footage that is so mesmerizing. I have seen this in 3D now I will see it again in IMAX. Highly recommend.

The visual effects and music for this movie were great, but the story line was predictable, and the characters had little depth.
Overall, I enjoyed the movie, and the groundbreaking visuals make it worth seeing. Unfortunately, the characters were very stereotypical and the story was so predictable that there was very little emotional involvement or suspense in watching it.
That said, I think its visuals and very good musical score, make it worth a watch.

Just saw it over the weekend in 3D. Was one of the best movie going experiences in my life so far. The special effects were awesome, unlike anything seen before. Not the usual 3D where things keep jumping out at you. This was more of an immersive experience. But no movie can run on special effects alone. Good characters, especially strong female characters (one of Cameron's trademarks), great pacing( I really didn't feel bored all through the almost 3 hour running time), and quite a few metaphors about the world as it is now...all combine to make it a movie with heart. Sure there are some cliches, but what movie doesn't have some? James Cameron is back with another big bang...Watch it, you won't be disappointed.

As someone pushing his 40th birthday...all I can say about Avatar is that it made me feel like I did when I saw Star Wars for the first time as a kid. I left the theater actually feeling something. In this jaded world where we are constantly bombarded by special effects and violence, I became completely drawn into the beautiful world of Pandora and into the plight of it's people. Sure the story is the same old - newcomers threaten natives' homes and lives to obtain something the natives don't even value - but it was told in a way that it felt new. Performances were great...especially Zoe Saldana's. And the expression in Na'vi eyes, just made them seem so real. I'm going to see it again.

3D was superb. The characters were truly artful creations. Truly fascinating adventure, artistically created and acted. My brother believed the corporate guy should have been marched out in cuffs. Creatures reminded me of the movie Pitch Black. Good movie.

Good Movie. not a Gift from God . More like a license to print money. I dont even think i would buy it on Blue ray. I have to say this was probably the best movie I have ever seen. I was so into the entire movie that the 3 hours went by like that. The 3-D just made it that much better. Even without it, the movie is still fanatastic. I didnt know the premise of the story before I saw the movie but a friend of mine recommended it and I was definately not dissappointed. I went into it not expecting much and came out totally satisfied. The story itself was impecible and in the end you are routing for the Avatars not the humans. Way to go James Cameron, it was worth the 5 years it took to make this. You won't regret going to see this flick.

This movie was excellent. The graphics and details were just breathtaking. As long as it was, I could have watched it all over again the second it was done. Even though there were some things in the story line that were predictable, the special effects and the beauty on the screen made up for any flaws there might have been.

It was a fanstatic movie...must see it in 3D! The graphics and visual effects grab you instantly. Amazed at how 3 hours just flew by. We are going to see again.

Avatar is a one of a kind, mark in time kind of movie. Must be seen at least once in theater, in 3D. The world of Pandora is beautiful and a true spectacle, and it really comes to life in 3D. My favorite scenes involve the two lead avatars' graceful adventures through the illuminated and magical forest. The plot flows well and I was very pleased with the resolution. I can't stop thinking about this movie and am considering seeing it a second time in theaters - something I've never done!

This movie is breathtaking. The special effects were well exicuted, and right up there with Star Wars The story line is very well written. It was so good I saw it twice, and can't wait to see it in IMAX 3D.
