the best place to see this movie in 3d is the theatre. my husband and i were captivated for the full 2hrs & 40" ! we didn't realize the time had gone so quickly. story was actually great and made you think about what it is like to have others will placed upon you...why do some think that their way of life is the way everyones life should be? instead, what if we work with other societies with their belief systems in tact and their traditions respected? to distroy one culture to ensure the survival of another @ what cost?

This was an awesome film. This movie had great action,cool effects, great visual effects, a good storyline, and great acting. I would highly recomed watching in 3D, or the IMAX HD 3D, its worth the few extra dollars.

This is the best movie technologically that I've ever seen. The graphics were unbelievable in 3-D. Who needs a plot with a movie like this? I don't go into a "popcorn movie" like this expecting to be overwhelmed with a complex plot. This movie did just what I wanted it to...grab me from the first few moments and take me on a ride that lasted almost 3 hours but still felt like 2 hours. James Cameron I think comes along once a decade to entertain us with a huge blockbuster and he did just that. I'm going to have to see it again because I'm sure I missed some things the first time.

How could one even ask how this movie was. I just took my older grandson to this movie and the outcome was so great my grandson and I could not stop talking and discussing the show all the way home, which was a thirty minute drive. We cannot wait to get the dvd to watch it over a hundred times. Nothing, and we mean nothing could ever compate with the technology, color, action, storyboard was so amazing, every minute and second was not to be missed. I am 62 yr old and have never experienced such an awe/intensely imaginatively story that really took fantasy and military control to a whole new level, and the 3d was the best we had ever seen.......just done the way shows should be made, just loved it so much.

I have not been in a theater in years. I couldn't take my eyes off the screen. Unbelievable! The audience had ages small children thru seniors. I don't know how many people wet their pants, but not a soul got up to go anywhere. I am going to call people I know who don't go to the movies, and tell them to go see this. Just plain AWESOME!

I was worried about the length of this movie, but between the stunning visuals and a story that kept everything moving forward, I never noticed. Interesting concepts, gorgeous fantasy creatures, and a love interest. What's not to like? The 3D was fun, but in some instances actually intrusive to the viewing experience IMHO (was it REALLY necessary for that arrow to be in my face?)

You definitely forget that you are looking at a Computer-Generated world. Story line is sufficient but could have been a touch richer. And some of the fight scenes were a bit over-done and silly. But overall a very well-done picture. The humans were very believable. :)

Avatar is an awesome epic film filled with real life struggle, compassion, human consciousness, integrity and unfrotunately greed. The graphics, scenery were outstanding. I like that they chose mid-level actors and not many big superstars so that they may have a chance to shine in this movie. Was this what it was like to see the first talking movie? Or to see The Wizard of Oz go from black and white to color? I remember seeing Star Wars and Encounters of the Third Kind when they first came out being mesmerized with the special effects. Seeing Avatar 3D was like that experience. I was swept away to another place by a story that tugged at my heart and mind and in awe of the imagination and technology that allowed me to experience the power of the Eywa(sic). What a blessing to have lived long enough to witness first hand Hollywood's evolution. Definitely a must see.....may be a little intense for the younger kids. Hopefully, I'll be able to get it in 3D for my HD some day to show my grandkids.

Graphics were excellent, and allowed for total escape at a cinema. Who wouldn't want to jump onto their own dragon? The plotline is very weak, considering all the thought that went into the making of the movie. This was either intentional in order to not distract from the movie's technology or a big oversight. For me, I felt that the lack of successful plot was a big failure. This movie has been built up as being the new best thing to come out of hollywood. However, when one sees that it is the same old story twisted in a new package - it is a difficult to see it as anything other than a missed opportunity.

We had a bit of eye strain at the start of the movie, but after that the 3D was amazing! This movie is amazing! It's 3 hours and you don't want it to end. One of Cameron's best. Go see it......then see it again.

Totallly awesome movie. A definite must see. I went with my 8 year old son and my husband (who almost never goes to a movie theater) and we all loved this movie. The next morning my son asked if we could purchase the CD. I told him that we definitely would.

The 3 D was impressive for a little while, but it's a little like a dog walking on its hind legs. At first, you say, "Wow". Then the second time you see it you say, "Hey, that's pretty neat". By the third time you're aware of it, you think to yourself, "Get that mutt outa here".

True . . the story line was not as great as some movies, but it well made up for it in the phenonmenal visual effects. There was enough there that you could easily "feel" with the characters. However, the true joy of the movie was the unbelievable amount of creativity that went into the making of the film. It did not lose my interest for one single moment. Go . . and enjoy.
