It was not my favorite DiCaprio/Scorcese movie, but it was good. I thought Dicaprio overacted on occasional. Ruffalo's underacting was good and well suited for its purpose to the movie. I enjoyed the movie very much, and the conversation/assessment it created afterwards. I will say the violins were a little much.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

True . . the story line was not as great as some movies, but it well made up for it in the phenonmenal visual effects. There was enough there that you could easily "feel" with the characters. However, the true joy of the movie was the unbelievable amount of creativity that went into the making of the film. It did not lose my interest for one single moment. Go . . and enjoy.
It was enjoyable and was sprinkled with some good, funny scenes. Clooney did a fine job, but neither he nor the movie are award worthy. The overall story path is one of anguish and disappointment in life, and was portrayed by the director and Clooney quite well.
I have walked out of 2-3 movies over the years. This is one I would have left if I had not been sitting in the middle of the row. No plot. Insensible humor. Tell me a story, but don't try to rewrite history. Is Clooney really not sharp enough to see how bad this was????
