I had no idea what to expect because I had read none of the reviews. It was a true delight! I was as engrossed as all the kids in the audience. The visuals and special effects are just spectacular! Though the plot was somewhat predictable, it had just enough twists and turns to keep you involved. It was worth every penny. Everyone should see it in 3D.

The movie had a story line that could easy be followed. The bad guys through greed want what the little guys have and as such demonize them in order to kill them. In the end, good triumphs and we are so redeemed.
Very good cinematography. It was about 20 years since I last watched a 3D movie and was pleasantly surprised as to how real the effects were. All in all a great movie. I was a little disappointed there was no single black actor and one wonders why this is so!

I took 4 teenagers who sat spellbound for nearly 3 hours. It was so beautifully done, it is worth going just to see the imagery, esp in 3D. It doesn't come at you with gag after gag like so many have done. I loved the story too. You will enjoy this movie.

The visual effects, and thoughtful concept of this movie (likened to the Matrix) made this a movie well worth seeing more than once in 3D. I am a business woman and an artist. As both--I find this movie stimulating. Even though I've now seen it twice in a theatre--and have never done that before in my 43 years, I'll certainly buy it on blue ray when it comes out.

I was not really interested in seeing this movie, but my kids were. I am soooo glad that I did! I now know why James Cameron won, and why this movie will win the Oscar! It is truely a beautiful piece of art, and it takes you away for 3 wonderful hours! All 3 of my kids sat with no problem through the whole show--they too were mezmerized! Make sure that you see it in 3D. (Don't fret about the first 5 minutes or so--it's a bit confusing)

My 18 year old daughter and I were finally able to get in to see this movie and we truly enjoyed it. The graphics, makeup and 3D effects were mesmerizing. The message was clear to me and I hope others were able to grasp as well. A few curse words, but otherwise good family movie for older kids.

The special effects were just fantastic. That alone would have carried the movie to a point that people wouldn't have missed missing parts of the movie. However, it had a wonderful plot, without questions of, "how did that happen", or "well, what happened...". It was a very well planned, thought out and perfectly directed movie. Very original. I was excited to see this movie, but it exceeded my expectations. It was full of action, and I became very emotionally involved in the movie. We were disappointed to view the movie from the first section of the theater, but experienced no difficulty in viewing the movie with the use of the 3D glasses. My nine and 11 year old enjoyed the movie also. They were not scared at all. It was an awesome family movie with some good messages.

For a SciFi fanatic since the 60's, this was a movie with wonderful visuals and a deficient plot. Boy gets/loses/gets girl, indigenous people beat superior forces, existing culture wins because alien knows more than they do. Cliche after cliche. The best part was the 3D and the scenery, the worst was the "we can do it" speech and the apache war cries. Oh, and did they call one of the groups "the Yukon Clan"!?! or did I mis-hear?

I saw the movie not in 3D, and was overwhelmed then. I knew I had to see it in 3D to experience something fantastic. I enjoyed the movie very much and plan on seeing it again, If you have not experience the excitement and the feeling of riding on air. You will be missing out.

I did not want the movie to finish. Eventhough it as 160 minutes, it was well worth it. I would watch it over and over again. The 3D experience made it very enjoyable. Excellent, Exceleent, Excellent>>>> Beautiful story...My rating is A+++++++.................

The plot of Avatar in 3-D (such as it is) can be summed up as “Military Dominated by White American Males bad; everything else good.” Just look at the special effects and ignore the “story.” There really isn't one.
So Earth looks like the WALL-E planet on a bad day, but somehow Sigourney Weaver can still get cigarettes, made from... what? Wait; I wasn't supposed to question that. No eco-tourism from Earth. We're evil — run by white males, so we only want to despoil, get it yet?
The special effects are very good. They really created some interesting alien landscapes, plants, and creatures. Too bad they spent all of their money on that stuff and didn’t invest in hiring a writer. Oh well — maybe in the inevitable sequel...
No, I do not recommend this movie.
