The story line truly hits homes. There are those that don't think there is a 'plot' or are offended, they are the ones that need to open there eyes. It is wonderful how James Cameron 'gets it' and worked for 10 years or so to create the affects that made the movies so beautiful and engaging. If you are going make sure to arrive EARLY since both times I went it seemed to be sold out. Seats are definitely better from the mid to upper sections. I have seen it twice and now plan to see it at an IMAX.

I went expecting a Star Wars type thing which I'm not a fan of but I was very pleasantly surprised. The plot is predictable but who cares, the visuals are beyond incredible. I was mesmerized, totally absorbed in what I was seeing and experiencing. I will definitely see this movie again. Please don't write it off if you don't like action movies because it's so much more than that. On a scale of 1 to 10 I give it a 15.

Outstanding new technology, best seen in 3D, great sci-fi theme and solid plot (although somewhat predictable), and a wonderful message. Sigourney Weaver is great as always, Saldana and Worthington have great futures. and Lang (remember General Pickett from "Gettysburg"?) & Ribisi were perfect. I'd fly with Rodriguez anytime! Stunning effects and cinematography, especially in 3D. Would recommend getting to theater early (45min or more) to sit in middle of theater or else seeing on IMax. You want to be enveloped by the screen. Plot is completely unoriginal - hi-tech mix of Dances with Wolves/Braveheart, etc. Radical liberal agenda is apparent throughout movie (US as imperialist nation conquering other lands for resources with no regard for life, even using a line from George W.'s war in Iraq).

I have already seen this movie twice now. The imagery in this movie is phenomenal and is a must-see simply for its beautiful scenic designs. I went once and watched this with friends then again to take me mother... both times it was a huge success! Though it is def not a kids movie!! I work for a mining company that, like most modern mining companies, does wetland mitigation, reclamation of quarries into native habitats, etc.. And I have three relatives who have served our nation in Iraq and Afghanistan, as medical officers. And did I mention that I consider earth-worship to be an idolatrous abomination? Why do movies always have to treat miners like wacko criminals, soldiers like homicidal bloodthirsty maniacs, and indigenous spirit-worshippers as the only achievers of nirvana? But even with that, I walked out loving this movie because of its fanastic special effects and its gripping action sequences. 3-D has come a long way since "Dinosaur".

Fairly predictable: The hero gets the girl, etc., but the 3D was good. No headache for me. I actually flinched as things came toward me, once or twice. The action sequences exciting. Actually, it was an upgrade of the usual culture clash, as it was more of a tale of a three cornered clash of cultures. Demonstrates my three aphorisms: Life isn't fair. No free lunch. One of the best movies I have seen in a long time. I love the cast, both real and unreal. It took me away from reality to another reality for 3 hours. The cinematogrophy was incredible as were the people in Avitar. I still don't know if they are completely computer generated; perhaps i just don't want to know. I will miss those people. AC

The effects were stunning, no lack of genius in that respect. Yet, the plot development was somewhat predictable and had a lack of thought in comparison to the genius behind the special effects. From the beginning, I noted the pan-afro context in which the characteres existed and the common africanesque bone structure that composed all their faces. It was a story of European-looking people *against* African-looking people OR European-looking people *as the saviors* of the African-looking people. More anti-racist assumptions could have made for a less racist movie. Giving way to more interesting, less predictable plot dynamics.
Yes, I recommend this movie.

Good story line, great premise, superb special effects. This was one of the best movies I have seen. 3D was very impressive; all movies should be in 3D. I recommend everyone go see it.
