Watching Avatar in 3D was an awesome experience - having been a fan of 'new' technology from the days of Cinerama and watching Star Trek in 70 mm, this movie was extraordinary - Pandora, Avatar's ever present backdrop became as real as any street scene filmed in New York or L.A.! It has been many years since I saw a movie that I wanted to see again and again. This movie is certainly one of those. The movie is visually stunning. Not knowing what to expect, I took my nine year old son to see this movie, and I found it to be a very similar to the story of the American Indian. Having taken him to see Transformers, GI Joe, and the like, I kept looking for that one "corruptable" moment. Never saw it. I kept asking him if he was tired as the story went on, and he would just shake his head "no". At then end, he did say, "I've gotta go to the bathroom" (maybe we should have went with the smaller drink). It was a gripping, inspiring, edge of your seat movie, that mixed the reality of today corporate greed, with the world of fantasy. Overall, I'd say the bar was raised a bit w/ this movie.

This is one of the best movies I've seen all year and I've seen a lot of movies. It's so easy to get swept away by the graphics and the color but the storyline is just as solid and the acting ....fantastic. There are parts that will leave you panting with excitement, while other will have you ready to jump from you seat brandishing a spear or in my case a half empty soda cup. Either way you'll be swept away and love every single moment that you're lost.

The graphics were supurb. Someone in the design department is a scuba diver, since many of the "plants" in the film are basted on corals found in our seas. The story line is so anti military and pro treehugger, it becomes distracting. There is litte developement of the characters except for the two leads. You don't care when the "chief" and other characters die.The 3-D effects are wonderful to go along with the graphics, but I could have enjoyed the movie more without the political bias.

Avatar was an exceptional experience, if an experience is what you're looking for. You feel utterly transported to a stunning, jaw-dropping world thanks to brilliant and gloriously conceived visual effects. If, however, you're looking for a great story and great characters as well, you should just rent Star Trek. This movie had stock, one-dimensional characters that paled significantly to the 3D effects. The screenplay, complete with awkward and eye-roll inspiring dialogue, was merely a vehicle for the world Cameron created. (And if you're a Marine or love someone who is, you may be offended by the notion of a Marine willfully shooting other Marines).

I took my three boys ages 11, 13 and 15. They all thought this was a great movie. Great 3d effects and special effects. Very good story although too liberal of a theme for my political standpoint.
Humans are not destroying our planet people. We aren't that capable.

The 3D and special effects make this movie worth the price of the ticket, even including the extra for the 3D experience. The 3D was very effective. The scenes were beautiful and there were a lot of wonderful special effects. The plot was the very standard western ("cowboys vs Indians") theme, even down to the natives riding horse-like creatures, wearing war paint, shooting bows & arrows, and shouting war-whoops. Nonetheless, it was a good movie and we enjoyed the experience.

I attended with my 21 y/o daughter and we both enjoyed the movie. Initially the 3D effects were distracting but we quickly acclimated and I recommend seeing this in 3D.
The story was very entertaining and after the movie ended many of the customers in our theater applauded. We were part of an audience that ranged from 7-8 y/o children up to 70 y/o adults and this movie worked for both these age groups and everyone in-between.

It's all about the amazing special effects. Very entertaining. But from a christian point of view there are a few instances of taking gods name in vane I did not like. This movie has it all, visually it is surpasses all that I have seen and the story is great! This new 3D is unbelievable, I was blown away by it and will go see this again in the theater just to experience it again, lol maybe a few more times!

The best movie I ever saw. My 7 yr old also loved it. No obscene scenes or vulgar words. Special effects and the story line is just awesome. If you can afford to spend few extra dollars, please see 3D-IMAX version.

I saw this movie in 3D. It was the best utilization of the 3D technique I've seen. The visuals were amazing. The story was one of the best I've seen in a very long time. It's got my vote for best everything of the year.
