Definitely an experience

Avatar was an exceptional experience, if an experience is what you're looking for. You feel utterly transported to a stunning, jaw-dropping world thanks to brilliant and gloriously conceived visual effects. If, however, you're looking for a great story and great characters as well, you should just rent Star Trek. This movie had stock, one-dimensional characters that paled significantly to the 3D effects. The screenplay, complete with awkward and eye-roll inspiring dialogue, was merely a vehicle for the world Cameron created. (And if you're a Marine or love someone who is, you may be offended by the notion of a Marine willfully shooting other Marines).
Yes, I recommend this movie.
