All I can say is WOW.. well maybe a little more than that. It was an amazing movie with a story line and special effects that just reach out and grab you. This was not a movie that relied only on special effect either. When you sit down to watch you are pulled right into the story as well.
I would caution taking little ones though, they did swear a bit. :-)
The ending get very epic battle intense.. might be a little much for a little one.

James Cameron's "Avatar" takes movies to a new level. He has created an entire world that is totally believable and stunningly beautiful. The plot is flawless and not a minute of this film is wasted. When the movie ended, I wanted to see it again -- right then. I know I'll be seeing "Avatar" at least three more times, to catch things I missed the first time. It's essential to see this movie in 3-D. It puts you into the movie and you become a participant. There are no words to describe the beauty, grace and horror of "Avatar." Cameron, Sam Worthington and Zoe Saldana should be dealing with an armful of awards for this amazing leap forward in film making.

I love sci fi and animation but am usually reluctant to see hyped movies. I was also concerned about the 3-D headache factor. But I forced my family to go with me and we were all very glad we went. The story is not especially original, but the 3D was fantastic - you felt drawn in to the story. Great tech work plus a good story (if only ...) and no headache, only the wish that all movies could be in 3D.

Movie was awesome! We did not get into Imax 3 D just saw regular 3D but we are going back to see IMAX version.
Special effects are excellent and they use the 3D as part of the story not to put a couple added effects to the movie like bullets coming at you!

Not just another scifi film. This movie has it all. I saw it in 3D Imax so it was just unbelievable. The images come out to grab you and take you inside Avatar. You really experience everything as though you are on the planet, viewing it's inhabitants up close and personal. It made the emotions run really high and you felt everything along with the characters. This movie reminds me of The Matrix in it's effort to reach it's audience on a spiritual level. Great film to enjoy again and again. Can't wait for the DVD. The visual effects alone are worth the buy.

I wasn't going to even see this movie..the trailers and the concept of blue people did not appeal but I was amazingly surprised. The story was timeless, simple yet poignant. The 3D effects were used sparingly and with wisdom. I found myself physically moving around in my seat while watching all the action. I loved it and recommend it to all of those who are reluctant to see the latest blockbuster film.

I saw it in IMAX 3D! I loved it a perfect movie for 3D!! This I would highly recommend it! I read some critics did not care for it, I have no Idea why. It was 2hours and 40 min movie and i was completely immersed in Pandora. This was my first 3D experience and I cant wait to go see it again! 3D is where the future of visual entertainment is going and for good reason Its amazing!!! Mr Cameron did it again!! The only way to appreciate every aspect of Avatar is to see it in 3D. You're on Pandora, right in the jungle ...every bug, animal, plant seems so real that its easy to forget that its all special effects. The attack on home tree reminds you of Apocalypse Now. The movie reminds us of the importance of the natural world and stresses the interconnection of all living things. Its a must see movie.

This movie will change movie making productions for generations to come. It's up there with Wizard of Oz, Star Wars, and other epic movies that set the bar to a whole new level. The imagination, computer graphics, and good storyline make the 2.5 hrs worth while. Although some parts may have dragged on a little longer and some acting seemed trite, it's hard to be too critical for such an amazingly rare gem in movies nowadays.

My 4 year old grandson loved this movie. The only part that he was scared of was in the first part of the movie when the 6 legged dog type animal was chasing the three people in the Avatar bodies.

The entire movie was in 3D, a real surprise from our past experiences with this element. Worried about the length of the movie and its ability to keep us interested and involved. Shouldn't have. The movie was excellent. A fairy tale quality with a lot of realism included. Best of both worlds. Already recommended this movie to our relatives and friends. Wouldn't mind seeing it again to catch what we may have missed the first time.
