Didn't really want to see it at first, but I am so glad I did. It was a great movie with outstanding visual and special effects. The 3D experience was superb. We knew it was a long movie before seeing it, but it really didn't feel like it when it was finished.

After all the hype for this movie, I went to this movie with pretty low expectations and was still disappointed. The 3-D effects were extremely exaggerated and distracted from the movie. I was actually nauseous at times from the 3-D. It was the combination of "The Matrix" and an adventure movie. Aside from the movie making technology, it was nothing that has not been done before. There were some good special effects and computer animation, but I was hoping for a better story and more realistic 3-D. If exaggerated 3-D is the future of movies, I will avoid going to the theatre. I would take a pass on this movie.

This film, while a milestone of integration of live-action with computer generated imagery, also brings powerful messages about our species and our culture of waste, greed and military force. It should show our shame in thinking that we can just wipe out people through force for our own goals of greed. I think this film points, in a commerical way, to the direction of being self-aware, that our natural resources are limited and should be treasured and that we are all on this planet together and should work together to save and cherish it. We are, indeed, all connected.

The movie is an incredible visual experience, Cameron went all out on this movie. The story was actually captivating and kept our interest the entire 2 hr 40 min. That's hard to do with such a long movie.

A slow start, but amazing special effects throughout the movie. The story line didn't drive the movie until about midway through. In comparison, Titanic's 3 hours went by so very quickly with a strong story line that kept you interested form the beginning.

I found this to be a very good movie. While the basic premise was a pretty simple tried-and-true formula, the execution of the storyline was outstanding and well covered in all areas, breathing life and excitment into an otherwise well-worn premise. The special effects were superb, and the 3-D rendering lent a very engrossing element to the film, placing the viewer into the experience and enhancing it without being obtrusive or overpowering. Truly remarkable!

I am not a Science Fiction Fan ,but my kids wanted to see this. I dreaded seeing it in the theater as I knew it was a very long movie. I was truly surprised by this movie and I would recommend it to everyone. This Movie captured you from the very beginning. The 3 hours seemed to go by just a quickly as your standard length movie. I wasn't waiting for it to be over. I was truly engaged in the movie the entire time. We plan on seeing it again. Worth seeing in 3D.

The storytelling is excellent, of a fairly classical story, with supurb technical effects. Both the 3D and CGI were kept mostly invisible (not too many "Duck the object thrown at audience" situations and no "Look how neat my CGI is" scenes), but were used effectively telling the story. Made me wonder where in New Zeleand one can find the floating mountains and where such great 10-foot actors were found.
This is Science Fiction, not Science Fantasy.

Overly long tale that telegraphs the ending about halfway through the film.

Simplistic, black & white/good-evil characters right out of a Saturday morning cartoon.
I guess we shouldn't have expected more from the director of "Titanic".

I resisted seeing this movie sooner, due to all the hype, and because sci fi is not my favorite genre..Howvever, as most everyone who has seen this film states, It was superbly done; graphics, special effects, theme was refreshingly unique, and characters were creative. Excellent, and would see it again!

I watched this movie in Flagstaff with a large number of Native Americans in the audience. I can only imagine how they felt. The message of this movie couldn't come at a better time. We DO NOT have to live in a world where the richest and most powerful take from those they can overpower. The first step is believing that, and this movie takes us all one giant step forward.

This is one of the best fantasy movies of the last 2 years. Well realized with a lot of action and a great graphics. The base story, not to far from reality. A big corporation that does not care about anything but profits. A bunch of mercenaries with big guns and looking for any excuse to use them, and a native civilization that does not share our values and it has to be either turn to our ways or eliminated... sounds familiar? I usually do not go out to the movies, but in this case it was worth it.
