Cameron and the production staff do an excellent job making you feel immersed in the land called Pandora. The 3D effects and beautiful colors of the plants and animals really make it come to life. I also thought that the movie is fairly believable, a concern I often have for sci-fi films. While character development and history are lacking, the movie moves fast enough to prevent you from noticing. finally, its 2 hours 40 min duration did not seem to be that long.

I will be seeing this movie at least three times in a top notch 3-D/IMAX Theater! The story line is simple but inspiring. The acting is excellent for its genre and the special effects are over the top. I am hooked for many more episodes. Go see it. You'll have fun.

The movie in a way was created to best utilize the 3d effect within the plot, as well as incorporate the viewing and filming experience into the way the plot is perceived. Brilliant. The plot itself sprawls over an exceptionally large abundance of concepts, all of which it recognizes and dominates accordingly. Visually the film is beyond stunning and impressive and the dramatic effect, while lacking at first, builds up to an unprecedented level. A must see.

I was excited from the moment I walked into the theater. Seeing it in 3D was incredible! The ashes and flowers floating around you made you feel like part of the movie. It was along movie so I suggest you bring a lumbar pillow ;). It is a very powerful story, rivaling that of Dances with Wolves. Made me a little ashamed of how entitled some people/humans seem. One request: PLEASE do NOT bring young kids! There were 2 infants in the theater, both crying thru the movie! Not for little ones!!!

The plot echos very familiar scenarios of people with limited technological ability pitted against intruders with more advanced technology. Beyond that the movie portrays an alian civilization and culture that is completely believable as presented. It was simply amazing how Camron created and presented the alian world and its inhabitants in a most believable mannor. The images of the Na'vi people are absolutely real along with their language and cuture.

Ignore the critics who can find imperfections in any movie - that appears to be their goal in life. This movie has the incredible special effects in 3D - as expected, and a plot that is well matched. Of course there are things that could have been done better, maybe a few predictable plot twists - but still an incredible experience in 3D. My only real complaint is that the villain reminds me too much of my boss. Highly recommended.

To start, this movie was visually stunning, and perhaps worth seeing for that alone. However, without the impressive visuals, what would remain is a story with little depth that covers no new ground. At several times, a deeper story is hinted at, but never is fleshed out. Similarly, the characters are by and large just caricatures without much depth. Though some depth is again hinted at here, it is mostly just in passing and never amounts to anything that affects the plot. Avatar could have been more satisfying with more attention spent developing the amazing world in which it was set. Despite all of that, it was a fairly enjoyable action movie... throughout the 2.5 hours, I never found it to be dull or dragging.

The graphics were really awesome and just really visually stunning . Storyline was amazing aswell. The only complaint i have is the 3D glasses made some of the colors dye out , like it wasnt as bright , alil darker... But other than that its amazing.

This was a great movie. It kept my interest or the entire 2 hours. The visuals are fantastic. This is a must see.

The CGI and tech on this film is great, but the story is amazingly simplistic, racist, and overblown. It's unfortunate that after so many years working up this, Cameron still had so many plot holes and insensitive moments...

Avatar was astounding. I'm sure the movie would have been just as well in 2D, but if you have the opportunity, pay the extra $3 and watch it in 3D on the big screen.
This was the first movie I had ever seen in 3D, and boy, am I glad I did. It was everything I had hoped 3D COULD be, but didn't believe it really was. Keep in mind, this isn't your mom and dad's 1970's kind of red-blue-paper-glasses 3D - this is the future of immersive film making.
The plot was rich, the graphics were breathtaking, and the attention to detail was immaculate. I really was wowwed. Definitely recommend any and all friends to go watch. If you only see one movie in 3D for the next year, this is the one to see.
