The movie is a visual feast. Other than a slight stiffness in some facial expression of the animated humanoids, they felt like real humans. Beautiful colors and backgrounds thoughout. Story held together quite well. EPIC battle sequence. Dialogue was pretty solid as well. Cons: Sam Worthington kept slipping from American to Aussie (surprised no one kept an eye on this) and the music was quite solid overall, but a bit too reminiscent of Titanic...especially the first two notes. I've never been a fan of 3D, but loved this, and it's clearly the wave of the future. I was surprised to see young children there. It didn't strike me as appropriate for kids under 12. Great movie, though!

Unfriggin real! By far the best SiFi moving ever. I'll go again AND buy the Blue Ray when it becomes available. If you like SiFi movies you DO NOT want to miss this one. Spectacular animation, a simple story line that sucks you in, and an ending you hope for. However, it is 2hr 40 min long so don't drink too much because you can't leave!

this was an awesome movie. yes the story we have seen time and time again; people with power & tech take what the savages have; but underestimate the power of resolve. i took some family members that have never seen the new 3D; my sister her last 3D experience was "jaws 3D" in the 80's, lol. so she was a big disbeliever. not anymore; lol. her little girl was at the edge of her sit for most of the movie. this movie is long, i'm kinda seing a trend here; movies are geting longer, so; how bout bringing back intermission? it geting hard on the baldder; lol.

Do not miss this movie in 3D! This isn't Jaws 3D. This isn't even on the same quality as recent CGI movies like Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs. This 3D experience will blow you away. It immerses you in the movie and makes it real.

We had a big variety of ages there were 7 of us: 60yr, 48yr, 43, 18 & 11 year old triplets. We all thought this movie was AMAZING! And the length. No problem. This is how long movies used to be before they started editing out parts etc. The 3D part was SUPERB. The colors/graphics were amazing. The storyline was great. We would all see it again several times EASILY. Great family movie for middle aged kids and up. There were a few cuss words that dissapointed me. It would have been completely fine without them or in the other language. This is my only complaint.

Honestly, from the trailer i could tell exactly what the movie was about (storyline and all). I wasn't gonna see it at the movies, but infact, wait for it on bluray or dvd, but i was persuaded to go see it, so i did. The CG is really impressive, and i was marveled at some points but also confused in some. The predictions were just as i thought from the trailers. I was able to predict every scene and outcome. There is a strong political message in this movie which is very interesting. Overall this was a good movie (i could have still waited for the bluray). I would recommend this to a friend, but NOT FOR KIDS!!

The first hour and ten minutes are truly memorizing and the special effects are incredible. The opening scenes in the Pandora Forrest and dragon taming scene are unforgettable. The second hour and thirty minutes are plot less and James Cameron's poor attempt at a political statement. The movie is way too long, and could have had 40 minutes shaved off it, however I still recommend you see it (especially in 3D) because the cinematic pros outweigh the cons.

I saw this movie in 3D and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. The flight scenes were especially exciting. The length of the movie was just about right and the ending was satisfying. I enjoy films like this; e.g. a mix of science and fantasy with innovative technology and strong visuals. I wasn't disappointed. Its a richly designed and well told story.
The story line is not new; sort of a cross between "Dances with Wolves" & "Star Wars". None the less, well worth the $$ to see. One note: there's more profanity in it than I felt was needed. Consider that for younger kids.
I didn't enjoy the 3D at this theater. The colors were flat and dull and the 3D aspects were weak. Without the glasses the colors where much more vibrant and engaging. I would see this film again but without the 3D.

The movie is definitely a must see. The imagery and special effects were without peer, however the story was predictable and the acting weak. Spellbound is how my wife and I felt during the movie. I'm a 60 year old grandfather, conservative and not a huge sci-fi fan but I loved the film. The 3D was awesome, the colors amazing and the computer generation was outstanding. Forget the "message", it was an extremely entertaining film.

I thought the movie was excellent! The plot was wonderful, animations seemless, and an excellent 3D rendering... It was very exciting to watch!!
The movie was long, but, I found myself wanting to sit through it again... Definitely worth the time spent!

I enjoyed the visual beauty of this film and the wonder of the CGI, but I thought the 3D wasn't worth it.
Plus, the overall story arc contained few, if any surprises. Kind of like a Turbo version of Ferngully.
Worth seeing to marvel at the feat, but it's not as SPECTACULAR as I had hoped.

This movie followed the formula for action drama with textbook precision. Still, the special effects were completely believable and the actors compelling. I would recommend it to a friend, but mostly for its underlying political criticisms.
One thing to note if you are taking kids, there is a lot of cursing and one almost-secks (really folks, the correctly spelled word is considered profanity?!) scene.

This was well worth sitting in a theater for almost 3 hours. We almost left and asked for a rain check since it was so packed we had to sit in the front row. Boy am I glad we didn't! This is one of the better movies we've seen in a while. We can't wair for it to come out on blue ray. We will definately be buying a copy!

Extraordinary movie. My expectations were lowered by some moderate reviews that the story was so-so or predictable and it was all just about the effects. I found the story to be engaging though. My 9 and 11 year olds enjoyed it too. And the visuals were incredible. Definitely worth seeing.
