The subtle non queenly like actions of the white queen were hilarious. The end where the knight wants to be killed instead of exiled with the red queen is priceless. Seeing Johnny Depp dance like he was on speed is worth $12 alone!

First, I recommend your see this film. My six year old daughter loved it. She was a bit wary going in that it wouldn't be like the original - the depiciton of the Red Queen in the trailers caused her to be alarmed. When it was all done, she remarked "That was a great movie."
Second, if you're looking for a reprise of cutesy March Hares, you will be disappointed. However, if you are a fan of Lewis Carroll and want to see how Tim Burton is able to weave the poem "Jabberwocky" into a phantasmagorical rendering of "Alice in Wonderland," you're in for a treat.
Third, ,make sure you see this filmin 3D.
Slight caution, the violence in the film may be too intense for small kids under 5.

It was a colorful movie. Slow moving and entirely predictable. My teen kids loved it. They loved making fun of Anne Hathaway's performance and Johnny Depp's makeup and Helena Bonham Carter's bulbous head. The extra money we paid for the IMAX 3-D wasn't worth it. The kids expected many superfluous items poking toward them and that didn't happen. I would say, save the money and let your friends tell you about it.

Don't get me wrong, it was definitely a good movie and worth the price, especially in 3D IMAX, but if you're expecting to relive your childhood experience of seeing Alice In Wonderland, you won't get that experience. It's definitely a much different movie than the cartoon and they can't really be compared with each other.

My niece and I went to see Alice In Wonderland at the Providence Place Mall IMAX theater last night, purchasing tix online and choosing our seats was beneficial, as we sat dead center in an otherwise sold out venue. The Special effects were amazing and the story, although altered quite a bit, was fascinating. I really wanted to love this movie. I love Johnny Depp - I was extremely disappointed. The music was good - nice scenery. Johnny Depp was so underutilitzed. Anne Hathaway brought nothing to the role. Okay. I was excited about seeing the movie. You know, the whole experience; 3d, IMAX , being freeked out for a highly touted movie. My 10 year old son and I went and saw it. I fell asleep halfway through it! Very slow movie. I love J Depp in a lot of his movies, but this one sucked! Tim Burton doesn't always get it right, but for sure this one! The best part for the 3D was the closing credits. Stuff started crawling out of the screen as people were leaving. They missed the best part of the movie! Sorry.

I went to see this movie for three reasons: Great Lewis Carroll story, great Director Tim Burton and wonderful 3D IMAX possibilities. Unfortunately I have got none of them. The original spirit of the story was lost in special effects and unbearable 3D rendering (after seeing Avatar I started warming up to a 3D idea). The beautiful darkness of Tim's previous movies was lost in mediocre performances even by my favorite Johnny. My kids 10 and 12 still liked it. Costumes and CGIs were still very colorful and interestingly made. I felt I wasted my ten bucks for 10 AM movie. See it on Blue Ray.

The visuals are really what made this movie good. I had high expectations for a rendition of a child hood favorite directed by the great Tim Burton but the movie definitely feel short. It as almost as if the move was rushed, There was no real character arc, by the middle of the films i was starting to get fidgety as i was sitting in my seat because the movie was just getting unbearable. The 3D was terrible almost as if it was all done in post which really was upsetting nothing really popped out at you and at some points was fuzzy, even with the glasses on. The movie really did have potential but definitely feel short , very short.

I loved this movie! I am a big fan of Alice in Wonderland and enjoyed Tim Burton's version, to where he could make it his own but still paid tribute to Lewis Carroll. Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter really showcased their acting skills, and I think both children and adults can enjoy the whimsy and humor they bring to this story. The makeup alone makes this movie worth watching.

One of the most beautiful uses of 3-D and Imax I've seen since Avatar. Characters were engaging and entertaining. Story had enough action and humor to keep the viewer interested. Makeup and effects were first-rate.

The IMAX experience was great, would have givin it a 5 star but the plot was horribly predictable. My 6 year old was dying to watch it but after a preview by dad I would say an older kid movie for sure. Enjoy the special effects!!!

A wonderful movie! Tim Burton and all of the actors, including those that did the voice overs were excellent! No one else would have done justice to the wackiness it had to have! The creativity just oozes from every scene, within 5 minutes I had decided I need to add this to my Tim Burton collection! 3D effects were nicely done and they didn't use any annoying 3D tricks that movies will do. Wouldn't mind seeing it again at the IMAX!
