I expected to see a lot of the ... ahem ... juvenile type of humor that Judd Apatow films tend to represent. So I was delighted to see the outsized wacky talents of Russell Brand combined with a more serious, pensive character. It made for a rock star that was over the edge but with room to grow. He was paired with the silly boyish sweetness of Jonah Hill's obsequious music industry toady, whose wide-eyed innocence and passivity was cured with a nice backbone-growing arc of his own. I could have done without the incredibly long, awkward scene with Daphne and the two leading men near the end. It wasn't well foreshadowed or believable. The most surprising: Sean Combs (aka Puff Daddy, P.Diddy) as a record industry mogul. He was hilarious, terrifyingly realistic, and convincingly insane. I hope we see a LOT more of Sean Combs in films from now on. Brilliant casting, great performances.

After reading a 4-star (of 4 possible) review in the Houston Chronicle, and 3-star (of 4) in People, I expected to be entertained and was NOT disappointed! i've been a fan of Russell Brand for many years, enjoying his hijinks on british tv and radio, but wasn't sure how he'd translate to a lead roll on the big screen... i need not have worried... Get Him to the Greek is a silly, funny, raunchy, smart no-holds-barred comedy that kept me laughing (at a time in my life when i really needed a laugh)... by now the story should be well understood from the over-saturated trailer blitz running everywhere... what isn't as clear from the trailers is the chemistry between brand and hill (and between hill and puffy, who steals every scene he's in) - throughout the movie i expected the writers to take the easy way out (think: every cliche redemption comedy schtick you've seen), but that's not what happens... brand's character is complex and he plays him that way... hill's character is a bit less complex (though still more real than similar 'lackey' roles) but his fearless performance keeps you rooting for the guy... and diddy is post-modern deconstructed version of diddy which should have casting agents thinking seriously about him for more comedic roles.
oh, and there's enough d**k, f**t, s**t and f***ing jokes to keep the inner 6th grader amused (my favorite: the water closet scene)
i know some other reviewers have been less satisfied with the sum of the parts, but viewed at in the tradition of other summer comedies (Caddyshack, Meatballs, Stripes) but with a 2010 sensibility, this film is a winner.

With some reminders of Brand's eccentricities in "Forgetting Sarah Marshall", director, Judd Apatow, gives the film some real chutzpah as it goes along. With his witty, though, foul-mouthed utterances, Sean "Puffy" Combs (Studio Boss, Sergio Roma) adds some welcome scene stealing moments. Although raucous and raw, this one is a sure bet to please many an audience!

This movie is exactly what I expected from the cast and producers. It is inappropriate and vulgar and that's the kind of humor we've come to expect from Jonah Hill and Russell Brand. Brand is great as the grungy rocker Aldous Snow and there are some funny cameos and spoofs on celebrity paparazzi. There are a few unnecessary scenese and even an attempt at a bromantic message they could have done without. This movie delivers, but you have to have the expectation coming in that it will be dirty and foul. After all it's an R comedy from the likes of Superbad and Sarah Marshall and that's why it's funny.

It's been said that sequels usually aren't as good as the first movies and this definitely holds true for this movie. There are funny parts but not enough of them for a $10+ movie ticket. Russell Brand turns back to his old, drunken, drugged out ways before having a realization about how much his life sucks and he needs to be there for his fans. Predictable. This was a great movie. I took my 15 yr old daughter to see it we sat and laughed out loud throughout the movie as did the whole theatre. The sexual content was not as bad as one might think, and yes it gives you some insight as to the life of a rock star. Would highly recommend this move. movie was so funny in parts i had tears streaming down my face. it's definitely not for everyone, but if you like raunchy, "superbad" kinda humor then you should see it. jonah hill isn't a rising star by accident; dude is freakin hilarious. took my wife; she had no idea what is was about. she laughed harder than i did. overall, great way to spend a few bucks and get some laughs.

The movie tried to keep you laughing but in all it failed. As usual, there were a few good laughs but too few and far between. Not recommended at all.

this was way funny than I thought it was going to be. Almost everyone in the theater was laughing almost all the way throughout the movie. it was also meaningful, which most comedy don't always get right. i would definitely recommend this movie.
