I am sick and tired of taking my kids to a movie and having yet another story line about how the mother dies! This movie was OK and my 8 year old laughed, but he had way too many questions at the end about the mean dad, bullies and why did the mom have to die...again! My three year old was terrified of the big falling food and of the headless chicken. sorry, but this movie wasnt worth the almost $40 !!

I have 4 children, ages 2 - 9. Because of this, I usually see pretty much every child movie that comes out. This one is one that is enjoyable for the children and parents, and I like the fact that it has a hidden message in it about the importance of fathers. As a father, I think that's a pleasant change.
It's pretty funny from the beginning and doesn't really have any boring parts, which is important with young children.
Two thumbs up!

I'm a 28 year old Aunt who took her 9 and 11 year old nieces to see this awesome flick! I'm quite the kid myself and within minutes of the movie starting knew I was going to love it. The 3D made it all the much better but I give this 2 thumbs up! It was smart, funny, and very playful! I'll be owning this once it's on DVD!

We took our soon to be 10 year old Grandson to see this move and a great time was had by all.
It was amazing to see everyone of all ages wearing the 3D glasses and enjoying the story.

I took my 6, and 7 year old girls to see it. It was the first 3D movie they had ever seen, so I'm sure they will never forget it! The graphics were great (esp. in 3D) the characters seemed to be easy for kids to relate to. I laughed about as much as they did, so it was fun to watch!

I was a little disappointed that the grandfather telling this tall tale from the book was not present in this film. There were many added characters (Sam Sparks and the town Mayor) that were not present in the original yet play a pivotal role in the film. If you never read the book, this is a fun movie of its own. I took my 6 year old and 4 year old to see it. The 6 year old loved it but the 4 year old was pretty scared during the last half hour when the weather goes crazy. There are headless chickens chasing and eating people. I don't know the movie needed that.

I really didn't think I would like this movie but it turned out to be pretty good. The story line is kind of strange but the writing was very funny. I think it's good for both adults and kids. The 3D didn't go for the cheap tricks and only nicely enhanced the story and drew you in.

First of all, i slept through entire movie. THe story line was too simple to keep me awake. wasted $15... Second, maybe kids older than 7 might be able to understand the whole story. My 5-year old daughter was too confused to grasp the idea. So, yes i would recommned this to kids older than 7 but for younger kids i woul suggest them to go watch toy story instead.

I think this movie was perfect for 3D! I'm not sure that it would have been as great otherwise. It was such a cute imaginative movie. It was nice to see a good clean movie again with no hidden adult humor or that was suggestive in nature. The love story was cute enough where it WAS NOT inappropriate and the moral of the story was good too. Overall a pleasant experience.

Smart, funny and even sort of touching at the end. Animation is outstanding and 3D is used to great effect. One of those rare family movies that's actually enjoyable for parents as well as kids. My wife and 12-year-old daughter also loved it.

The movie is a good time for you and the kids. I would suggest not taking kids younger than 5. They will be bored and want to scream or cry (trust me). Kids from 5 up will enjoy the movie although I must say that the story starts a bit slow and the last 20 minutes is tiring. The main character has to jump through too many hoops to save the day in the end. You are exhausted by the time it is over. Still, we had a great time. I am really enjoying the 3D effect. I hope that this becomes a common feature option on all movies. I will say that I felt that the 3D effect was better utilized on G-Force but it worked well here too. Thanks

The animation was great--showed much imagination. The story line just didn't have it, I think. In fact it was downright repulsive. I kept feeling the presence of gastric juices, digestion, etc. NOT a pleasant experience. But we watched it clean through. This is my studied evaluation of the movie. I am VERY picky about what my kids watch..the fact that this movie is rated PG made me wary. But it was honestly one of the cutest and most appropriate childrens movies I've seen. Nothing raunchy, or overly violent or inappropriate. My 7-year old thought it was great, and I was happy to finally sit through a movie 'for kids' that was actually appropriate for kids! Excellent.

Was dissapointed that the movie really didn't follow the story line of the storybook I so loved as a child... but it was a great movie! My almost-3-year-old and almost-4-year-old loved it! Although my younger daughter didn't like the 3-D glasses and only wore them for a minute or two before something 'jumped' at her and she got scared and refused to wear them. Would have liked to see it *not* in 3D with her I think... There was enough 'adult level' humor to keep my husband and I laughing along with the children... Overall- Great family movie!

Wasn't sure how my 3,5 and 7 yr olds would sit through (especially my antsy 3yr) but all of us loved this movie, and the 3D is really what made it! Loved the story line and the affects. If my 3 "never sit still" kids actually sat through this movie without a stir, then that in itself should say enough. Two days later still talking about it and am waiting for the dvd release!
