This was a good choice of movie for a nice rainy night. As others have said, it is definitely a "chick flick" with a pretty predictable plot, but it does however leave one walking out of the theater with a smile and a nice warm fuzzy feeling! Vanessa Redgrave does a fantastic job with her role, and Amanda Seyfried isn't bad by any means. But I do agree, the male roles in the movie leave a lot to be desired. Overall I think its well worth seeing if nothing else for the great job with the beautiful filming throughtout Italy!

Vanessa Redgrave, Amanda Seyfried and the Italian countryside are the stars of this film. As always, Vanessa brought depth and character to her role; Amanda did a great job of making us believe in this young woman who apparently doesn't know how to choose a man with any depth. The male roles left everything to be desired, but if you can suspend logic and belief for 90 minutes, it is a good way to rest your brain.

This was not only lovely in the way it was filmed but also such an inspirational love story. It was about caring for each other. The quiet relationship between Vanessa Redgrave and Amanda Seyfried even had depth. If you liked Vanessa and Franco in this, go back and see them in 1968's CAMELOT. They still have it. The boy playing Charlie was brilliant, because you liked him in the end. The scenery was staggering.

I really enjoyed being drawn into this movie with its relatable characters, light-hearted storyline and wonderful scenery! The audience would often break out into laughter. Yet, my heart was touched by the letters to Juliet and the search for Lorenzo. I went to go watch this opening night. I was by myself but the theater was packed with many ladies/girls who were perhaps on their ladies night out. The story was nice, and the actors in it were awesome! I laughed a lot, and really enjoyed it. I did not feel a lone at all, the theather was filled with happiness, laughter and you can just tell a majority of the people there were having a great time. I definitely reccomend this movie to all the ladies out there. Some of the men there laughed hysterically as well!

I wanted to experience the Tuscan scenery once more & the film did not disappoint... It is beautifully filmed... you can taste the food / wine & smell the soft fragrances. It was Heaven to see Vanessa Redgrave again. I enjoyed Amanda Seyfried, Egan Gael & Franco Nero as well. The plot was simple, fairly predictable but pleasant enough. Don't go looking for any hidden or very deep meaning...just to enjoy. It will be a "lovely" experience.

overall, very clean, family friendly movie. however, i could not get past the annoying male actors, corny lines, and incredibly predictable plot to enjoy the movie. i typically enjoy romance movies, but this was just embarrassing. if you must see it, RENT.

This was a great movie! I'm a sucker for movies like this! The cast portrayed the characters excellently. I went for a girls nite out and at the end everyone clapped. Definitely a must-see!

It is romantic but it shows a smart girl, a busy guy (the chef) and a pedant Englishman, all of them like common people. The movie in some aspect is real with something the magic that all of us needs.
