The movie was really good! However, you really do not get to see that much of the new breed of Predators. As well, it was not really clear about the new evolution of the new Predators. The movie needed more of a Arnold Character that would have had a more menacing look that would have matched the Predators. Great Movie!

Lotsa action, great characters, and awesome Predator suits drive this 13-years late but worthy sequel above the rest.
"Predators" opens up going full throttle and thrusts you deep into the action right away. This is a very different movie tonally than the first film, as the characters are all unrelated, so the camaraderie that Dutch's mercs share in the first film is missing from the outset. However, the characters are interesting enough to invest in emotionally, and as the film progresses, a sort of obligatory kinship begins to emerge among them.
I know a lot of people were skeptical about Adrien Brody being able to carry a hard hitting action film like this one, but he did a solid job of creating an interesting lead character that holds his own against Arnie's Dutch, while also being different enough to where it doesn't feel like the filmmakers just ripped off the last movie 'cause they couldn't think of a way to top it. Alice Braga serves as the moral antithesis to Brody's character, and the two characters share some interesting ruminations on the value of survival at all costs vs. meeting one's fate with his/her humanity still intact.
Oleg Taktarov, Danny Trejo, Louis Ozawa Changchien, Walton Goggins, Mahershalalhashbaz Ali, and Topher Grace round out the cast of mostly unknowns (or at least second tier celebs), and they all do a great job a differentiating their characters from one another. Louis Ozawa Changchien's "Hanzo" was especially cool, and the highly underrated Topher Grace did an excellent job with what he had to work with. *minor spoiler ahead* Also, the amazing Laurence Fishburne drops in briefly for a memorable, but ultimately far too brief scenery-chewing romp. *end spoiler*
This film definitely plays like an ensemble piece, just like its predecessor. It's also plainly obvious that the filmmakers are in love with both "Predator" and James Cameron's "Aliens," with maybe a few more sci-fi horror films borrowed from here and there as well. Some legit film reviewer somewhere said that "Predators" is like "the ultimate work of fanboy fiction," and I think that's the best way to sum this film up -- if you loved the first one, you probably love this one.
I'm one of the few people who really enjoyed "Predator 2," and to a lesser extent the terrible (but still fun) Aliens vs. Predator movies. Robert Rodriguez and Nimrod Antal's "Predators" is hands down the next best thing to the 1987 original, and is worthwhile treat for anyone who loves the first film.

This movie was really good. You don't expect a 3rd movie to hold up, but I would put it up there with the first one. The actors were great and the Predators were huge and nasty (love it). This movie is worth seeing.

The positive reviews about this movie convinced me to watch it last night. It was a major disappointment to say the least. Adrien Brody does not portray his character very well. He doesn't have the "dark edge" required by such a character. Definite miscast in my opinion. For the most part, Topher Grace plays the same character he plays in all his movies - a dork. There are so many cliches in this movie. I could see lines coming minutes before they were spoken. The plot is very predictable. Yes, they tried to spice things up by introducing bigger "super predators," but really - they're just bigger. They didn't seem to have any more capabilities than the smaller predator. Nothing in the movie made you care about the fate of these characters. The had little connection to each other so when one of them dies you don't care either. The first Predator was without a doubt the best of the Predator series. This movie is just plane lame.

Ok...so I rarely watch the trailers just pick movies by the description. I have seen and own ALL of the previous predator movies.
THIS WAS PRETTY AWESOME! Never expected Lawrence Fishbourne; constantly on the edge of my seat or squeezing my eyes shut.
My better half said compared to the 1st two: no way. He will not want to see it again. I DO! Cuz I'm sure I missed some stuff peeking through my fingers! :D

Now look-I loved the first two Predator movies. I even liked Alien vs. Predator somewhat (although they spent way too much time on the damn humans-where's the actual Alien vs. Predator, dammit?) Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem is another matter. It SUCKED. Enough said. But this film kicked ass. Adrien Brody was phenomenal as usual. Topher Grace was a pleasant surprise, as was Laurence Fishburne. Whoever did the casting is a genius. That being said, the action was quick and dirty. But the writing, plot, and character development was beautifully done. This one gets an A+ from me. I am so buying this when it comes out.

Star-studded, with a fine performace by Brody, who gives a needed wary intensity to his role.
It is a satsifactory experience, but limited to a hunters and the hunted plot. I did feel some fear, which is testimony to a well-scripted and shot movie, in which actors deliver good performances.
The audience I was with cheered when Laurence Fishburne took off his helmet.
Nevertheless, the movie doesn't go beyond the original except for location, which has been shifted to a more exotic alien world.
If you liked the first movie, you'll likely enjoy this but, in a sense, it's as if you have seen it before, which is a sensation that Hollywood has been specializing in delivering lately.

Look this movie was written by rodriguez in the 80's and was suppose to be the sequel to Predator but with the script on hold for 20 years it came to life. Lets get some things straight the planet is not the predator planet its one they use to hunt on and also this movie "was" written a long time ago to be the sequel but with the AVP'S people get the wrong idea for this movie.The script has alot of the little things from the original because it was only fine tuned a couple years ago to go into production. Out of the 4 Predators in this movie 2 get blown up too darn easy! These guys are BadAZZZ and they get blown up by a russian and a dying "boobee trapped" topher grace? come on! anyway I like the twist they put in that has a "rift " in the predator race.I hate the fact that its always 3 or 4 predators i want to see alot! I remember watching the previews and seeing adrian brody's character standing there and had like 20 different infared dots from the predators plasma cannon on him made it seem like there was a bunch of predators hunting.The twist i like is the 3 that were hunting are against the one that was tired up , So if executives are paying attention it would be cool to have a war of predators.Lawrence fishburne's character was a waste of time and hoky.The predator dogs could have seen more of them and also more of the other creatures they capture and dropped off to be hunted. All in all im biast cause im a huge Predator fan but the movie could have been wayyy better! I like the fact the "rebel" predators had customized their own helmet like the one with the jaw on his mask , and the one with tusks. There's nothing new to see here. Just more of the aliens who like to have mano-a-manos with human mercenaries. This time, the setting is their planet and they're importing the best of the worst killers from other planets to theirs to hunt them down. It's an interesting twist, but most of the scenes are ripped off from the first one, including the one where the lead actor rubs mud all over himself to avoid being detected by the heat-sensitive camera. Just skip this movie entirely--you'll be sorry if you don't.

What started out as an interesting film ended up to be almost pointless. Movies are like my children, and I hate talking bad about them. But since the AMC took my hard earned money for this one, I guess I'll voice my opinion.
The story is pretty unpredictable. And Alice Braga...Mamacita! She and Adrian Brody had great on-screen chemistry.
Unfortunately, the entire cast couldn't hold up to the MIGHT that Arnold Schwarzenegger had in the first film. Everybody seemed such weak prey for a true Predator. Even Lawrence Fishburn's cameo didn't have the strength as Bill Duke or Jessie Ventura in the original.
The samurai showdown scene was cool. However, the most amusing thing about this flic was the number of times "Robert Rodriguez" appears in the credits and the trailer for his Danny Trejo "Machete" movie.
Maybe I should have seen "Despicable Me" instead.

This movie is honestly top 10 one of the worst movies i have ever seen in my life. I had low expectations to begin with (cause AVP and AVPR both sucked) and this movie still was a colossal piece of crap. There was not much gore, the action scenes were far and few between and were not realistic or even that cool, the script was unbearble, and worst of all, the predator's were not that bad ass and got easily killed by the uninspiring human characters. To highlight my disugst for this movie, i remember one scene in particular where someone shot 1 bullet, i repeat 1 bullet, at a predator and the predator blew up into a pile of green goo. I mean give me a break, 1 bullet and the predator dies??? That is not how predator goes out!!!! In addition to this, two characters in the movie go crazy and turn against the squad for no reason, a total distraction to the movie and a total distraction from the predator plot. I really, really wish Robert Rodriguez had not been asked to direct this movie. He needs to stick to movies he is best at: senseless action movies that have terrible scripts and choppy storylines.

Another example of a great premise wasted with less than honorable effort on the part of the writers and director.
The players, finding themselves on a distant planet, which presumably in and of itself would've been a remarkable event, being hunted and chased by creatures that are presumably unbeatable, and not having much to rely upon in terms of weaponry, assistance, knowledge of the terrain, etc., are never presented with moments in which those circumstances become palpable to the humans, much less to the audience. The scary creatures never do anything scary, the good guys ( who are bad guys on Earth as we learn ) never are stretched much except for one scene with the 'dogs', and no situation ever gets to a point where there is a seed of doubt in the audience's mind that nothing will quite work out the way we want. Everyone just moves through the motions, waiting for the credits to roll, unless they are this movie's expendables.
The biggest gaffe is the Laurence Fishburne role, the lone survivor who has gone a little nuts out there by himself. Somehow I imagine that anyone stranded out there all alone, having to scavenge for a few morsels at a time, wouldn't be quite so robust as our good friend Larry.
In the first Predator, learning about the creatures provided a good amount of the suspense. But now we know what they are, so revealing them again doesn't work again. Even if you divide them up into little ones and big ones. The rest of the suspense in the Arnold original came from the inability of the humans to match the creatures in killing effectiveness in a straight up fight, but here, in the Adrien Brody version, that's never quite illustrated to a satisfactory level. Yeah, we know that the humans can't beat them straight up, Adrien told us so, but there's never a decent confrontation between the 2 groups. When there are confrontations, the humans find that, wait a minute, yes they can beat the Rasta Reavers after all with the super weapons that were transported with them, along with a seemingly unending supply of ammo. Now we have Predators dying right and left. Ho hum.
The movie is simply a disappointment, one that could've been avoided with better writing. The 65% rating at Rottentomatoes surprises me somewhat. I would've thought more people would've been disappointed. Without proper disappointment, we won't get proper effort when it comes to making these movies that we want to be not just good, but very good. Predator sequels have always been on that list.

What do you expect? It is not in the D-movie class as the likes of the Aliens v Predators movie, and its not as original (obviously) as the first Predator. There are plenty of cliches and homages to the original and honestly a few pointless throw-away scenes, however, there is also a hint of an idea in this movie. A tiny exploration on the question of humanity. Of which, I appreciated the attempt.
All in all it was a fun movie. Its not bad, its not awesome. It was fun.

I was really disappionted with this rendition of the classic saga "predators". The movie starts off with everyone falling out of the air and from there it is just about all air. The acting was great but it lacked substance,suspense and the gratutious violence was nothing to write home to mom. There was more action in the last two movies. It was highly predictable and I anticipated every moment. Don't waste your time wait for the dvd.

I'm a huge fan of Robert Rodriguez, who is the producer of this great film. He has an amazing history, he's a truly hardworker and very creative.
It is an incredible fiction movie you have to see if you love monster, fiction or action movies. Adrien Brody parts is really different from the others that he's done but he kickass The first ten minutes of the film I felt in a "lost" episode.

We all wanna see the predators[mask on] kill humans with their cool weapons and its really just a futuristic slasher. Entertaining and worth it to watch, great summer movie for fans of the predator series. Although I did miss Ahnold a bit
