Was intrigued about Adrien Brody being cast in the movie since I don't equate him to Sci-Fi or tough action-but he did a good job. Movie had no plot other than kill or be killed by the predator-but who cares. Was looking forward to seeing Laurence Fishburne more, but didn't. It was cool to see a badder version of the Predator creature. There were some loose ends to the movie, but hope another installment will clear that up. Overall a good popcorn movie and fun to watch.

Anyone who thought this movie deserved a decent review needs to get their head checked. I couldnt wait to see a predator movie that brought me back to 1988 when my brother took me to see my first rated R movie. I figured some cool new original and creative ideas would have been brought to the table. Acting was horrible, but I thought Brody was pretty good. Fishburn was just cashing a check for this movie and laughing on the way to the bank. Predators looked good, but were put in dumb situations like the swordfight.... Who would swordfight a predator... especially a ninja predator,,STUPID...No real suspence or plot. The drop in the beginning was cool but the actors ruin the movie instantly. especially the guy from the shield... He is a terrible actor... I would recommend this movie to no one. Hopefully someone can redeem this franchise.....Probably not at this point.

If you were a fan of the original Predator and were getting tired of the fairly lame AvP movies, then you should enjoy this. It is more akin to the original movie, but with it's own twist. Gritty action without the need to go too deep into the plot line. I was expecting more of Laurence Fishburn, but he still did good for the part he played. Probably the toughest I have ever seen Adrian Brody. Realistically, I would have given this a 3.5, but since you can't do that I leaned more towards a 4. Overall opinion is that it is worth seeing in a theater at least once.

Ok…I have never been a huge Adrien Body fan, and then I saw Spliced and was sadly disappointed (and a little creeped out). Then Predators came out and since I’m such a huge fan of the franchise I had to see it. Low and behold I’m in love! Brody was fantastic in a dark, dirty, extremely nice six pack sorta way. I think he is getting better looking as he gets older. Any whoo, the movie was a nice homage to the original. I did like the assorted characters like the first movie, but these bangers had the “every man for himself” mentality twist. It did start off a little slow which at first I thought would allow us to get to know the characters, but the cast, with the exception of Adrien Brody “Royce” and Alice Braga “Isabelle”, were flat. The story line could have been stronger, but because I love the whole trapped in the jungle with monsters scenario….as the Movie Man says… “I’M IN”!

I have seen all of the Predator movies (including the AVP) and I am pretty impressed with it. The storyline has a good flow and I liked how they started it off (reminds me of the movie 'Cube'). This should have been the 2nd movie and not the 3rd. Nimrod did a good job directing it.

Total Guy movie! Saw it with my 62 year old Buddy Ralph, this flick was meant for us. First scene, action. Then the suspense just fills. Right when you get your bearings, BAM, action scenes and fighting. There are some call outs to the original flick that fans will enjoy. Great sequel!

There's nothing technically wrong with this movie. It looks good, It sounds good, It features good actors, It just isn't very exciting overall. It's another rehash of "The Most Dangerous Game" with Predators instead of people. There are some good setpieces in it but a few god scenes do not a movie make. As a matter of fact it was actually pretty boring & very predictable with a silly ending. But the acting is good & if you're a fan of the "Predator" franchise you should be satisfied. I am but I wasn't. But that's just me. Give it a shot if you have the time. But only if you have the time. You can wait for home video for this one for sure.

the movie had a decent plot, ample action and good suspense. overall, i liked the move - i would definately pay the matinee rate, and would even pay the full rate in the evening in a pinch.
however, i wanted to see more gore, dismemberment and bloodshed. also, the woman does not get naked or have sex - that's disappointing.

I went and saw this film this past Friday night in Hollywood and i absolutely loved it! I thought Robert Rodriguez did an exceptional job, by staying true to the original story. The movie was loaded with non-stop action, the different predator's were a cool new addition. I also liked the mutated wart hog looking creatures.
I hope that they continues this series with both the same director and producer, as they left it open for a sequel to follow.
I would give this movie an 8 out of 10 rating and would definitely recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the original. Adrian Brody does a great job as a special op's soldier and supporting cast is pretty on point as well.
The only down fall of the film i felt was that there could of been a more in depth storyline and also maybe a variety of different creatures on the planet. I was hoping for all sorts of new monsters, not just the "predators".

The movie overall was ok. If you have nothing better to do, then go and watch this movie, but definitely a rental. It had some good elements (i.e. special effects, fighting), but the characters didn't mesh well like in the original. They had the obvious replacements Brody replaces Arnold, the Russian replaced Jesse Ventura, the Yakuza replaced Billy. The fight scene between the Yakuza and predator was good. Again, overall it was good.
But it was missing something that first movie had. Hard to put my finger on exactly what, but watch the original and then watch this one and I think you will get what I am trying to say.

It is about time someone does justice to the "Predator" franchise, a series which began in 1987 with a terrifically breezy, well filmed action movie containing some awesome characters, funny one liners, and nicely executed suspense. Now comes "Predators", conceived in the same wham-bam manner as it mercifully disregards the sequel that starred Danny Glover, and the spin-off "Alien vs. Predator" movies. Producer Robert Rodriguez and director Nimrod Antal have taken the material back to basics, and have created the kind of exciting, bad-ass action movie that I have thirsted and hoped for, and that I have now received.
The movie literally opens with a bang, as a man (Adrien Brody) wakes up falling in mid-air toward what looks to be a jungle-like terrain. He is strapped to a parachute that on a timer, and releases just in time. The wind catches him, and he rips downward through the trees and hits the ground with a loud thump. A black screen, and then up with the title, "Predators". Then, the movie begins. This is a fantastic opening sequence that informs us just how straightforward this experience is going to be. The falling man wakes up to find that he is not alone in this mysterious jungle, but that seven others have also fallen from the sky without any idea of how or why. The seven strangers also come to realize that they all have one thing in common: they are all elite warriors and killers, and they have been brought together to be hunted by the beasts called predators.
Among the other warriors are Isabelle (Alice Braga), Stans (Walton Goggins), Nikolai (Oleg Taktarov), Cuchillo (Danny Trejo), Hanzo (Louis Ozawa Changchien), and Mombasa (Mahershalalhashbaz Ali). The one person who doesn't seem to fit is Edwin (Topher Grace), a suburban doctor who is fairly scrawny and stands out like a sore thumb beside the likes of Trejo and Taktarov. This is a terrific group of actors working to create the kind of atmosphere and character interactions that the first film had, and although Adrien Brody is no Arnold Schwarzenegger, he surprisingly ends up being an inspired choice to play the tough, gravel-voiced anti hero Noyce. It is cool to see such a brilliant actor as Brody let loose and star in an old-school action movie.
I have heard some complaining about how the actual Predators don't make their first appearance until about forty minutes into the film. This is a complaint that I both disagree and agree with. On one hand, the suspense that builds as the humans try to figure out what's going on is good. It leaves a lot of time for wandering and dialogue that strongly reminded me of the first half of the first film. We mustn't forget, "Predator" started out like "First Blood" and evolved into something like "Alien". So does this movie. On the other hand, I was very unimpressed by the hog-predators, which seemed unnecessary and silly. There are also some sluggish parts in the first half of the movie, which weigh it down and prevent it from being as breezy as the first movie was. The pace indefinitely picks up once the gang runs into Noland (Laurence Fishburn), a longtime survivor of the hunts who has a few screws loose, and who has himself killed two or maybe three predators. His scenes are very interesting, and I don't think I have ever seen Fishburn portray a character quite like this one.
"Predators" ends when it has nowhere else to go, and I am perfectly fine with that. You get your fill of action and gore, humor and one or two twists, and then go on you merry way. Rodriguez has a tremendous knack for bringing us movies that remind us that an action movie doesn't have to be self-serious and seriously stupid. With his entertaining "Mariachi" trilogy, and the masterfully crafted "Sin City", he has proved again and again his talent for dealing with the genre. This time around he is in the producer's chair, however his influences on the final product are evident. I've not seen any of director Antal's previous work, but he does a relatively decent job here. It is the sequel that "Predator" has always deserved.

This is a really great re-make.As we all know,re-makes are usually not as good as the originals or good at all for that matter,but this was definitely an exception.Great movie from start to finish.Lots of action too.There really wasn't a boring part the entire movie.Tons of fight scenes.Great story as well.For and my family,there were no "Corny"parts.
I actually went to see it with my family and then went with a friend later that night to see it again.
Definitely worth seeing and adding to your dvd collection once it comes out!

Adrian Brody was "hella cool" in this movie... It was cool having 2 different Predators in this movie...
It was kinda slow in the beginning, but I enjoyed the action toward the end... I love the Predator franchise, hopefully someone will come up with a more excitiing Predator/Alien movie...

This movie probably had the best acting of any Predator or Alien movie I have seen. Characters were well done and the action was good. There could have been a little more story concerning how and why each person was chosen to be on the planet. Also, the ending, which could very easily set up a sequel, left something to be desired. Still a good movie. The sword fight near the end was one of my favorite scenes.

This movie is perfect for when the SO is out with her GFs and you want to hang out with fellas. Only for the rare, exceptional woman is this a date movie. The plot is not so important (many holes) as the character story, and there are many nods to the original 1987 Predator. Worth seeing as a matinee or rental.

This movie kept very well to the feel of all of the movies that have led up to it. It kept the sense of oncoming, unstoppable force of nature beings - but actually was able to come off a bit funny as well. That is something that, until now, had been lacking in the series, and is somewhat refreshing.
I personally did not like the use of the old musical riff from the older predator movies for the high intensity scenes - it seemed unoriginal, though that's debatable I suppose.
The movie did a really good job of using stereotypes of warriors and preexisting knowledge that the audience might have, ie: the inclusion of a Spetznatz and a Yakuza, while allowing those who have little such knowledge to still watch the movie without being confused.
The most enjoyable part of the movie for me personally was feel that the two parties were actually hunting one another, which one would think would take away from the "predators" seeming prowess. Instead, it only makes them look that much more unstoppable.
I would highly recommend this movie to anyone that has enjoyed the series!

The thing that set the Predator Series apart from the Alien crossover was ORIGINALITY. Predators are more than monsters. They show and exude An obvious Intellect that adds an element of terror to the sci-fi horror realm it occupies. This new movie is enjoyable to fans and newbies. Bravo Robert Rodriguez.

As soon as I found out that there are 2 species of predator, the story became more interesting and my wife and I began paying more attention to the plot. The other predator looked much more menacing and scary. Good job. And yes. We will definitely see more sequels since Predator can branch out to so many possible plots now.
