The story-line itself is what is attractive about this movie. Sandra Bullock is really good, but Tim McGraw shows he can do more than just sing. Quinton Aaron and Jae Head (who isn't even listed in the credits!!!!) as Michael and SJ steal the show.
This movie makes you think; about your judgements of others and about how you view life. It gives a whole new meaning to "you can't judge a book by it's cover".

I felt that this movie ran the full emotion range, it kept you wondering just how things would progress and the outcome was well worth the time you sat in the theater worth watching and an excellent example of paying it forwards.

A wealthy white family takes in a black teenage boy and it changes both them. It was real boost for humanity and how we all can look beyond the color, the backgrounds and be better to all mankind. He had a gift and she stepped up to the plate to have him shine. I hope everyone goes to see this movie. Sandra Bullock was fantastic. You go Toughy's, you make us a better planet!

I took my teenage boys kicking and screaming. They both loved it as did their dad and I. I loved seeing a movie with them that had meaning. Great performances, great message. Watch the photos of the real people at the end, it brings the message home.

I had been awaiting the opening of this movie after seeing the trailers. I've always been a fan of Sandra Bullock's particularly since she's a local from Arlington VA and Tim McGraw's (more on the music side). The entire cast does a great job. Stay for the closing credits to see pictures of the real life Michael Oher and the Tuey family. You may recognize Tim's new song that closes out the movie credits. Having Michael playing locally for the Ravens just makes this story hit home all the more. Do something good for others and the rewards will be priceless. Yes, I teared up at the end!

One word, Excellent, well done to the actors and the story line. I know it was a true story but it made me feel good that there are still people out there who still care about giving someone a chance in life. Everyone in this movie was perfect for the part. The story was so touching it should be an inspiration to us all. The fact that it's true is just amazing. The entire audience laughed together, applauded together and in some cases probably teared up together. This was one of the best movies out there that doesn't rely on special effects to sell it.

This was an excellent movie. I went with my family that includes 13,14, AND 17 year old daughters as well as my husband. It was a movie that we all enjoyed, which is rare. This movie taught you about what is truely is like to be a caring and giving person, as well as over coming obtacles in life against all odds. Great acting by all in the movies also.

You will love this movie. The NY Times -- never a fan of movies about football or that show the inherent good that can flow from individual acts of non-PC charity, especially when the individuals are Southern Christians -- had to work overtime to find something to criticize, e.g., characterizing the Touhey family's charity as "selective." Everone else is just relaxing and really really enjoying it. I had read the book first and I was not disappointed at the screen treatment.

This was an AWESOME movie! Sandra Bullock was amazing!! After watching what this family did it makes you think about how you can make a difference. I hope that before I leave this world I can have an impact on one person that forever changes their life. A must see movie for ALL ages! Even my 6yo son was on the edge of his seat. The trailers don't do this movie justice...and everyone should wait for the credits to see the photos of the real Michael Oher and his family. It's so seldom that good movies about doing good are produced that this one stands out as an example of what family movies should be like. I haven't been in a packed theater for years, but the audience was full of families and teenagers. Being a Ravens fan was a bonus.

Sandra Bullock gives an outstanding performance as the outspoken leader of a tight southern family, who look up one day and find they suddenly have a young, African-American boy living with them. The story was well told and very moving. The supporting characters were well written and added many different flavors to the story. The young man who played Michael Ore gave a stand out performance. I would highly recommend this movie to anyone who just wants to enjoy a good old-fashioned time at the movies.
