The dialogue in the first 20 minutes or so is fresh and well delivered. Things get a bit goofy for a while after that, but still some good baby-boomer marital angst stuff and nice bit parts from other actors including Ray Liotta and Mark Wahlberg.

I am a vibrant woman of 70 and the young woman who accompanied me is 18. She enjoyed the movie somewhat more than I. I realize that neither of us is in the movie's target demographic, which I was adjudge to be 30-50, but both of us were diappointed by all but the occasional, on spot, one-liners delivered by Farrell and Fey. Tina Fey is a great writer and one has to wonder why they didn't ask her to write it. The story was banal and unsatisfying. The only thing that saved the movie from being a complete waste of time and money was the acting; don't such great actors (and we in the the movie-going public) deserve a decent script?

This movie is perfect to see with your spouse! Was the whole premise of the movie a bit far fetched? Yes, but if you go into this movie wanting to laugh and hear some great one-liners then you must see this! Only Tina & Steve could make this movie work. If you like 30 Rock and The Office humor you will not like this movie. Maybe if Tina Fey had written it it might have been funnier. There were a few chuckles but the far fetched plot just kept getting more and more frustrating. This movie was worth the ticket price. If you are not married with children, you may not see the humor in it. I laughed more than I thought I would. I disagree with the review that stated the best part of the movie was Mark Wahlberg, um...he can't act & his abs are not... so.... fit (am I the only one who noticed?)......anyway, what made his scenes funny was Tina Fey. All in all I would recommend for a "Date Night" if you are married with children, otherwise you just won't get it. Not for kids, they will not find any humor in this.

Carell and Fey are reliable, but nothing here stretches their talents -- especially the considerable wealth that are Fey's. It's all a little mundane, but some strong cameos help to pick up the pace so the entire film doesn't flounder or grind to a halt. It's worth 90 minutes on a slow day.

THIS IS TO ALL OF THE IDIOTS OUT THERE THAT ONLY GAVE THIS MOVIE 1 STAR! HOW COULD YOU POSSIBLY CALL THIS MOVIE A SNOOZE FEST? IF YOU DIDN'T FIND THIS MOVIE FUNNY YOU OBVIOUSLY HAVE NO SENSE OF HUMOR, AND YOU SHOULD MAYBE JUST STAY HOME. I ALSO NOTICED THE AGE RANGE ON A LOT OF THE BAD REVIEWS. LETS JUST SAY MAYBE THE OLD PEOPLE SHOULD JUST SKIP THIS ONE BECAUSE THEY OBVIOUSLY JUST DON'T GET IT. THIS MOVIE WAS GREAT! TINA AND STEVE WERE WONDERFUL TOGETHER!

Being married and having kids I could relate to these people and that made it an enjoyable movie. There were a couple of funny parts that weren't in the previews. Good not great.

I thought the movie was enjoyable. We had some laugh out loud moments. There were times the movie came to a screeching halt. They were trying to throw in the moral of the story in 3 minutes of talk and down time. Overall though we had a good time and some laughs.
