Movie was good. I wish more of the movie would have been set in NYC instead of a half way around the world. Very rarely did the series ever venture outside of NYC and it was great. But, it did feature all the typical things that makes S&TC so great (fashion, female friendships, Samantha's antics, relationship angst, etc.) so diehard fans will not be disappointed.

I was worried when I saw the dreadful review in the NYT. Not great THEATRE, but excellent for what it is. If you are female and a fan of the girls, it is a fun romp with good writing, acting, and beautiful fantasy settings.

This was a great story. The movie shows that it is OK to be a woman...a woman at any age. Social status, income, etc make no difference in that all women have to go through the same experiences. The story is basically a continuation of Carrie and the girls' lives. I'll bet there will be another down the road to show us yet more experiences that we all are, have, or will go through.

Although the plot was not nearly as good as the first and it was far fetched in many ways, it was still a fun movie. The fashion was ridiculous which we have come to expect from SATC but the things the women go through were things all women feel (especially Charlotte regarding mother hood). Samantha's character and antics are always a bit much for my taste but she is entertaining and in the end, that is what a movie is!! It was a fun girls night out movie!!

The first SATC movie sort of wrapped up the end of the series. This second one, set a couple years later, took the next step - something and somewhere totally different than all around NYC, and dealt with life issues. You can always count on true friends, and true love. Follow your heart- Carrie and Big love each other, no matter what. Miranda loves being a lawyer, and would rather be happy in her job than be in a big named firm. Guys will always watch boobs, doesn't mean they are unfaithful. I loved that it showed them in real-life situations that aren't always rosey and sweet. I don't think they need a SATC3 tho. This was a great way to end.

Was not a fan of the show but did enjoy the first movie, this one however, lacked EVERYTHING. There was no real story/plot and the whole idea was so over the top. What potential job offer would allow you to take your 3 best friends for all expenses paid trip? The clothes-OMG!-like they raided a costume closet. Individual pieces were nice, but, you can't just throw pieces together randomly & say it's fashion. This was clearly someone not wanting the SATC fun to end. Unfortunately, it just doesn't work. Just could not relate, nor could I see anyone in any of these women's shoes.
No real plot/fashion gone wild/cheap sex jokes/not worth full admission. IF you go, see it with your girfriends, DO NOT TORTURE YOUR HUSBAND OR BOYFRIEND-LET THEM STAY HOME! --& see it before noon when it's half price!

I have been a Sex and the City fan from its days on HBO. I loved the first movie, but was sadly disappointed with Sex and the City 2. The acting was poor. The escapades in Abu Dhabi were far-fetched. I think that's the word that best describes this movie.....everything about it, from the grotesquely opulent Stanford-Anthony wedding, to the attempt at dramatic storylines (Marriage is sometimes boring, bosses can be difficult, having kids is hard and menopause happens...honestly?) to the beyond indulgent trip to Abu Dhabi. The clothes were even more over the top than usual and completely unrealistic (Charlotte bakes cupcakes in vintage couture and Carrie is obnoxiously "costumed") . More importantly, it's clear that the only need for this movie has less to do with finishing a story and more to do with the studio/producers/stars making money.
All that said, however.....for devotees of the series, it must be watched....like a train wreck, but funnier and with less carnage. If you bring your girlfriends, your cosmos and no expectations for anything of substance, it's worth the price of admission. Although, and I am sure the ladies would agree, good friends and cocktails make anything bearable.

I admit that the movie was not as fabulous as the first one but it was still great. Some of the fashion was great and some was just over the top. All in all it was fun movie with lots of laughs. I recommend a trip to the bar with the girls for Cosmos just before the movie....it makes for a great girls night out!
