I'm sad to give this movie only 2 stars, because I was a big fan of the TV show, and didn't think the first movie was bad. But what a disappointment this movie was. The characters don't even resemble their former selves. Whiny, annoying, disrespectful....even the clothes were hideous. Samantha's red dress with the silver Christmas bows on the shoulders??...what the heck was that??? Plus, these ladies (with the exception of Charlotte) are getting (and looking) too old to be acting the way they do. Disappointing for fans to see that our girls have become these dislikable women. This movie would be totally unwatchable for people who are unfamiliar with the tv show. A few folks actually got up and left mid-movie.

If you have followed SATC since the HBO days then you will like this movie. I read critics reviews and most of them lampoon the movie. I don't know what they thought they were watching. It's not meant to win an Oscar, except maybe for costumes. The girls openly acknowledge the hard economic times and decide they need a break, from motherhood, marriage, and life in general. Yes, they go somewhere decadent and over the top, but these are NOT poor women anyway! They buy $500 to $700 shoes!! The fabulous foursome still have their classic closeness with each other and share their problems with each other. As for critics saying that the movie is a slap in the face to the conservative Middle East culture, I didn't think they were disrespectful. I mean, you have Samantha in Abu Dahbi, what do you think she's going to do? Submit to what their men want? I don't think so. I will say that the karoke scene was a little stupid, but that was the only negative thing I saw. Go see it... you'll be happy you did!!

I really, really enjoyed this movie. I think Sex and the City 1 was a little better, but overall a very entertaining movie. You will laugh out loud almost the whole way through the movie. Great movie to see with your girlfriends! I left the theater with a smile on my face. So if you need a good feel good movie this one is for you! Have fun and enjoy!

I will continue to see these movies as long as they make them. The sisterhood element continues to be a strong pull for me. I will admit I liked the first one better because the writing was better and the story was more fully developed and deep. That being said, this story was definitely lighter and more comedic. Liza Minelli was absolutely fantastic!!! Miranda was refreshingly light and fun with no drama. Charlotte was still completely sweet and annoying. Samantha's storyline was completely trite and predictable. And I love Carrie's relationship with Big. I love the no secrets aspect of their relationship. The reason I did not give this movie 5 stars is because I know the writers were capable of complete delivery like last time. This time it seemed to be done quickly without as much thought. And I especially did not like all the use of the "F" word which I don't remember was part of the first one. But like I first said, I will continue to tune in to what these ladies are doing in the future or look into their pasts as I have heard is rumored...

Loved seeing my 4 favorite NYers and their men again but unless you are a diehard fan, wait for it on the small screen. Sets and fashion were amazing but the storyline was a bit too much (running into Aidan in UAE???). Some good laughs and fun w/the characters, still a good movie to see with girlfriends.

The ladies of SATC have outgrown their own stories. It's ludicrous to see these grown women prancing around in the same outfits, with the same mindset, as they did in their 20s. Carrie comes off as a selfish, cranky adolescent -- something she never was in the tv series -- and Samantha's overt sexual aggression is just sad. She survived too much to not be self-confident enough to not have to behave this way. Excess upon excess, 'cause there's nothing else to the story. Time to move on!

No conflict, no plot, no biting comentary. There was high fashion, which was great, but nothing else. They kept only one part of the tv show, the fashion. Not surprising, but what happened to the first part of the title? It was a necessary and intersting part of the tv show. t was about the fashion, and the fashion was wonderful. All that is fine, but movie could have been one hour shorter.
Big had no personality. He was the ho-hum stay at home husband that he never seemed to be on the show (as a partner).

Loved the sequel...better than the first. I had very high expectations for SATC and was dissappointed the first time. I had low expectations also for SATC 2 based on some reviews but I have to say I enjoyed every" guilty pleasure", minute. The whole thing is like a fantasy, the clothes, the colors, the jewelry,hot guys and the gay wedding. At first I didnt like the thought of the middle east but when you see the contrast between these women and the ladies dressed in burkas it really is great. Lots of laughs and a good night out with the girls. Going away with your friends on vacation to get away is something we all love to do- multiply that by 1000 and that is the SATC girl trip.

This movie was a total blast. Campy comedy that was a lot of fun and a load of laughs. Didn't get up to go to the bathroom even though the movie was long because couldn't tear my eyes away from the screen. Very entertaining. Take the girls and make a night of it!

These characters are fabulous. Samantha and her Lawrence of My ...Charlotte dealing with motherhood...Miranda stable and yet in transition...and Carrie coping from Chasing Love to Enjoying Love and Life. Fabulous movie for girls night out. Surprised that is sequel is actually good on it's own and again leaves us wanting more. When does 3 come out?
