This movie was a constant rushing ride... It was packed with action and had a great mix of characters coupled with some excellent humor. My only complaint was that it was difficult to see some of the fighting sequences due to the closeness and angle of some of the camera shots... All in all, I heartily recommend it...

The Expendables was a great action movie. Not a bunch of CGI effects, just good old fashioned explosions. If you like action movies you will like this movie. Well this was not my pick, it was my husbands so with that being said it was very good. I wouldn't go see it again but would watch it on rental. I thought some of the scenes we're a little too violent but what was I expecting.

Classic Stallone action. Be ware. Get your business (popcorn, drinks, etc .) done before you take your seat or you Will miss some of the action. The cheesy "Hey, Can I be in your movie too?" flair with all the best action figures Hollywood has to offer was not necessary. But it was uniquely fun and didn't mare my enjoyment in the least. If you crave blood, bullets, and bombs then this is a must see.

The action wasn't over the top. The fight scenes were average, the real fun was watching the actors. Anrold Schwarzenneger bathed in light as an homage to his action film days. Bruce Willis having so much fun working with Stallone he couldn't remember to act. Terry Crews showing he was more than just a television actor. Jason Statham proving he's earned his eye candy appeal and Stallone actually acting.

I've seen tons of 80's action movies and loved them (What I would classify as "WGN Movies", for those of you from the Midwest), this just didn't get me interested at all.
There were tons of explosions and cool fight scenes, but I just couldn't seem to care about why they even occurred. I wasn't expecting this movie to be an Oscar-winner, but I expected more than a bunch of half-assed cameos.

I thought this was an action packed movie right from the beginning. We don't like these guys cause they can act, we like them because they kick butt!!! I like that there were just cameo for a lot of the big names because it kept the movie moving and didn't open a lot of sub-plots that could not have been finished. The bottom line is, it had a great story with OK acting and Awesome Action. Just what all of us need right now!

When I first saw a trailer for the Expendables, I got excited. I'm a 30 something guy who grew up watching action flicks, and when I saw the names of the dudes who were in the Exendables, I knew right off that viewers of this film were in for a great time. This film did not disappoint. Of course, I went to it not expecting a super deep plot with lots of twists and turns. I expected and received an action packed romp with lots and lots exciting action. As pumped as I am about all of the explosions and awesome fighting that went on in this film, I was also impressed with its non too sublte but effective bit of introspective philosophizing. Despite all of the death and destruction, this film has a heart of gold and a conscience. Stallone et al have pulled of cinematic dynamite that will have you screaming like a little kid but isn't afraid to show a sensitive side.

Once again Sly Stallone demonstrates he is just not another "action star". He is a writer, director and a creator of excellent films. My husband and I could not wait to see this. I think he fashioned a trememdous cast. If Charles Bronson was still alive..wow! WHAT a mix that would be. We would of liked to see more of Mickey Rourke"s acting in this movie. Arnold still has it... the new comers to the movie gave it a great..well I won't spoil it. You will have to see it. Great movie...I didn't hear one F word, which I was thankful. The plot was a little lacking, but the intense action and the good sense of humor made up for it.

The movie was as expected. A lot of killing and fighting. Not sure it was worth seeing on the big screen versus renting..

Just because u have 80's action stars doesn't mean u should get a 80's storyline with drowsy pacing to make the audience quiet as a morgue. I mean, I would tell someone buy a ticket to Expendables and show up for the last 30 minutes for the ACTION and you won't miss a thang. More action and less talk like a good adult movie ratio... Terry Crews save the movie with "His say hello to my little friend moment!" The Randy and Steve fight was awesome!!! But, for a movie built on Action, it was built on delay action sequences with long periods of boredom. I expected high grade jet line fuel and got turtle diesel droppings. Such a poor display of cast talent and lack of a reasonable storyline. I wish, everything more interconnected which was giving on the screen to add suspense. For instance, the organization that hire them to save the boat crew be part of the drug game and it supported state sponsor terrorist against the USA. As, the pirates just happen to rob a boat crew who deals with the devil (When evil meets evil). Eric Roberts be part of the organization needed to be snuff out because his aspiration are not matching with the organization vision (trying to be a bigger drug dealer for personal wealth then staying low not gaining action from the DEA) which he starting to do. Show Roberts taking over other drug dealers territories using other mercenary crews. These changes would add more action and suspense to the film...
No, I do not recommend this movie.

All the old guys are in fine form. The script is a little uneven, but the action is swell. Could have used a sex scene, or at least one of the babes in the shower!
