When I first saw a trailer for the Expendables, I got excited. I'm a 30 something guy who grew up watching action flicks, and when I saw the names of the dudes who were in the Exendables, I knew right off that viewers of this film were in for a great time.
This film did not disappoint. Of course, I went to it not expecting a super deep plot with lots of twists and turns. I expected and received an action packed romp with lots and lots exciting action.
As pumped as I am about all of the explosions and awesome fighting that went on in this film, I was also impressed with its non too sublte but effective bit of introspective philosophizing. Despite all of the death and destruction, this film has a heart of gold and a conscience. Stallone et al have pulled of cinematic dynamite that will have you screaming like a little kid but isn't afraid to show a sensitive side.
