I left the theater in silence along with the hundred or so people that viewed at the same time as me. My emotions were up and down, toss and turned, and certainly slammed around by this film. I commend all of the STARS on performances well done. No emotionally unstable allowed to view this motion picture. Great Job!

The best movie I have seen in quite awhile. The storyline was great and the acting even better. Mo'Nique deserves the Oscar for her performance; SO riveting and SO powerful! And, Paula Patton was outstanding also. The movie definitely should get Oscar buzz, a lot of it, and based on what else I've seen this year, it would get my vote as best movie.

This was a very good movie, the characters moved from the screen and pulled you in. We saw the movie as a late-night feature and unfortunately many viewers brought their little children. This was not the type of movie for an underage audience. With the extreeme language at the start of the movie we heard audible gasps from other patrons. We were all riveted to our seats for the entire duration.

First, I've seldom heard so many people commenting on the movie as we exited the theater. This movie is extremely powerful. It evokes the full gamut of emotions. You can not help but be moved in some way. You will be hard pressed to find any weak performance by any cast member. Each actor turns in a gritty portrayal that frequently has you shaking your head at the harsh reality of it all. Be prepared for an emotionally draining and ironically uplifting 2 hours.

I was supposed to go see this movie with a friend who had seen it before as I was wondering if I could see it by myself. I am a 'survivor' and was a bit concerned about my own feelings given the theme of the movie. I have to say that it did impact me, but in a moving and powerful way. I appreciate the COURAGE that it took to make a truthful movie about this issue and that the writer, director and actors portrayed it in such a way that I feel confident encouraging other survivors and counselors to see it. I do caution, however, the 'realness' of some of the scenes may be painful to some.
I will never forget this movie and am thankful to all of the actresses in particular.

This movie kept my undivided attention! It had me crying at the beginning and the middle of the movie; but cheering at the end. This story can happen in any family, so don't get caught up that it was portrayed by an African American family. Precious came from terrible circumstances that no human being should have to endure. In the end, there were people who came to her rescue. Precious survived! Her children, survived! Monique was magnificent!!! All of the cast were magnificent! Thumbs up to the author, Tyler Perry, the actors, and everyone involved in the production of this movie! I'm waiting for the DVD to come out, so that I can add it to my collection!! Thanks, Tyler for another wonderful production!!!! Keep them coming!!!

This was a fascinating movie. I enjoyed it a lot. Even though Precious contracted HIV/Aids from her father and her prognosis looks grim, I was happy that she finally realize she is intelligent and had something more to offer. That was nice that she got her daughter back. All in all a good movie, very deep.

This movie made me laugh and cry. It made me realize how good I have it and how good my parents were to me. I also learned that you should never judge anyone because everybody has a STORY. I would not have been as patient as Precious was if my mother treated me like that! This was a good movie with GREAT actresses, but I didn't care for the ending though.

kinda slow at first but it picked up i would have expected a little more from the movie. Seems like it was missing something. But it was pretty good.

Monique deserves the Academy Award... She is riveting! The story is filled with things that don't make sense. The family lives in the projects-yet the interior of the apartment is a two family house. Precious has a baby in a hospital, yet she is not tested for HIV. She runs out of a store stealing a bucket of chicken- but no one can catch her even though she is about 300 lbs. The new baby is thrown on the floor and then falls on a concrete hallway floor and is perfectly fine without any doctors care, the GED school teaches only Writing classes and has just one teacher etc. etc. . This kind of inattention to detail is hard to understand when the performances achieved are so amazing.

This movie was overwhelmingly good. I was not expecting so much information. I haven't read the book, but it makes me want to read it. I thought Gabby and Mo"Nique did an awesome job. Incredible acting and a very telling story. It's graphic so I wouldn't recommend it to a young audience. It may even be a little too close to for some adults. Go see it if you can handle the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth.
