This movie was pretty much what I expected after seeing the trailers. If you like Sandler movies you will find enough yucks here to keep your interest but only barely. This movie has the feel of being quickly written, produced and distributed in order to make a quick buck.
Don't get me wrong, there is a lot of comic talent here. The problem is more with the writing than anything else. The gags become fewer and further between as the movie drags on. This movie could have and probably should have been a lot better.
Bottom line: it's worth buying tickets only if you are a hard core Sandler-type move buff. Otherwise wait for it via movie channel or Netflix release.

The worse type of movie to have to sit through is a bad comedy. A bad drama or a bad action movie are tolerable because there are other things to distract you. But a bad comedy with bad joke lines one after the other is really hard to sit through. The jokes just more and more annoying as the movie continutes. That is why I got up and left the movie theater after about an hour into this movie. The plot had the potential for a good comedy, but it was so badly written that it made the good actors in it seem like bad actors. Don't waste your time seeing it.

Sandler outdid himself. A+ cast. 100% funny! It's not a typical Sandler movie as you would think.
Kevin James is hysterical and the comedic genius of Schneider, Spade and Mr. Rock top it off! The whole cast was outstanding. For me there was not a dull moment. Sandler and James should continue working together.
This is a go-see movie if you are in the mood to laugh. Highly recommended.

I really enjoyed this film and I thought it had a great message to parents, grandparents and kids alike. We want to raise our kids to enjoy all aspects of life, beyond the computer, video games, etc. This film brought back my childhood memories and the most formative years of my kid's lives who are now 17 and 24. We lived in a unique neighborhood of Brentwood (Brentwood Glen) that was like a "Leave it to Beaver" neighborhood where kids played on the street; had block parties, etc. The kids would come to the door without a prior "playdate plan" and our kids would play outside all the time, inventing their own games and play "apple bobbing" among other games. We'd BBQ and enjoy the neighbors regardless of how much money they made. what school they attended, or "what kind of water they drank!" It was all about values and being a kid and growing up respecting differences. Tell Barry Bernardi that Marge Chirchick says hello and I really loved the film! It was truly heartwarming and good for all ages.
