The movie is worth seeing just for the visuals. The plot leaves much to be desired. It is reminicent of Dances with Wolves and the Last Sumuari, but these 2 movies were vastly superior plot wise. I am just plain tired of the racist plot that the the poor nature loving natives can't be saved unless a white man helps them. Wolves and Samuari are much more realistic - the (star) white guy can see the beauty of the people but he can't really save them from overwhelming force. And the supremely evil company/military is a pretty old saw as well. Where is the nuance that can really make you check your premises? I'm not sure the 3D/IMAX is worth it. I took off the glasses for a bit and the colors were even brighter without them.

I loved the movie. The contrast between the beauty of the forest and the destructive battle scenes is just absoultely stunning. You can really sense the wind, the speed and the great heights while flying on those birds!! It's just an increadible experience all around.

I have seen the 2D, 3D, and 3D IMAX version. I can tell you that the IMAX version is FANTASTIC! So much detail, the sound blows all others out of the water. If you want total immersion into a movie and feel like you are actually there, nothing beats IMAX. Just make sure to show up early so you can sit in a location that puts you squarely in the middle of the screen for MAX affect!

Wheather you like action, romance, fantasy, or ecologically resposible films, this one's got it!
I have never in my many years been so blown away by a movie... 45 minutes after it was over, I will still shaky from the tension... You cant remain "spectator only" it really grabs you and doesn't let go! You are definitely in for a thrill ride! Do the Imax 3D if possible, then hold on to your seat!

Saw this movie with my family. Ages ranged from 7 through 48. There was not a single one of us whom did not love this movie. For me personally I am so glad we decided to wait and see it in Imax 3D. It was visually breathtaking. I loved that the storyline took you on a roller coaster of emotions. I never felt like the movie needed to hurry up and be over. Honestly I couldn't tell we were in there over 2.5 hours. James Cameron once again proves why he is brilliant. Kudos....

Excellent movie, would appeal to wide variety of audiences. Wasn't sure if I'd like it because its a sci fi type movie and its a longer movie than most. Didn't feel like 3 hours and the 3D glasses were not noticable unless I leaned my head to the side (image gets blurry).

Originally, I thought Kevin Costner should've made a cameo appearance because the plot was so similar to Dances With Wolves. A previous reviewer mentioned the plot was like Pocahontas, which is probably a more accurate comparison, because the antagonist was right out of a Disney movie. No depth, and if you are in the military don't be offended by the 1-sided shallow portrayal of the armed forces. That and Evil Corporations.
Plot misgivings aside, the visuals and acting is solid. I'd recommend seeing this in IMAX 3D if possible, as it really is an experience.

Well this film is definitely filled with tons of eye candy. Saw it in IMAX 3D and it was pretty awesome. However the base of the story has been done a million times before and it was a tad to long. Could have easily shaved off 30 minutes.The visual affects were outstanding and the 3D transfer looked amazing as well. A lot of the diolgue was atrocious at times but this film definitely needs to seen in the IMAX and in 3D if your going to spend the money to see it. It really is all it has going for it. Its definitely a 3D gimmick film to sell more tickets but at least its the best one out there of its kind.

Do not go for the fake IMAXes. Search google for the a map of the real IMAXes. In Los Angeles, there are only two - The Bridge and Universal City. Buy tickets in advance and be patient.
I saw it at the ArcLight because my girlfriend was in a hurry to see it and although I loved the movie and the story I felt like saw a great movie through a beer bottle. I felt like I missed out so much.

3D Imax version of this was undeniably incredible!
This was the most I've paid for movie tickets ever, yet I will be seeing it again, because it was such a great show!
I feel the 3d was a bit underdone, and it seemed to be partly to add to the hype of a finely done movie. The Imax experience is overwhelming, in that everything is in such a large perspective that the whole scene is almost too big to take it all in.
With the plot, and storyline, it seemed a little predictable, with more than a few suprises throughout.
