There's little that can be said that hasn't already been covered. The movie has astonishing visuals, tasteful dialog, well written cliches, a cast full of heart and talent, and perfect 3D integration.

Amazing movie! We saw it in Imax 3D and the special effects were beautiful and incredible. Felt like you were really there!! Would recommend to anyone over the age of 11 or 12. Some of the fighting scenes are pretty intense for small kids-I jumped out of my chair a few times. My husband said he may not need to go to another movie again-it sets the bar that high!!

Quite possibly the best movie I've ever seen. I liked the story, but loved the special effects. Watch it in 3D in an IMAX theater. I highly recommend this movie.

Simply put, this is one of those movies that you just don't want to end. IMAX3D is certainly the way to see it. With breathtaking visuals, a captivating story, & perfect acting, this isn't just another entertaining movie. It's an adventure that grabs you by your senses & pulls you along for the ride. Sam Worthington & Zoe Saldana are two popular names lately, & for good reason. Joined by a great cast & led by the amazing James Cameron, they are all the right ingredients to cook up this delicious story & have you asking for seconds. After the movie finished & I removed my 3D glasses, I was amazed at how flat the "real world" seemed. I looked over at my father as he said faintly, "Wow!" I couldn't have agreed more.

Simply, the single most amazing movie going experiece of my life. Even calling it a movie does no justice. It's something else all together. It's like actually being in another world, awesome beyond imagination. You feel the explosions, you feel the emotions, it touches you like like nothing before. The story is so deep and the imagery so jaw-dropping and emersive, that when the movie's over you'll pause a second and realize for the first time in two and a half hours that you're only in a movie theatre and you'll just want to go back to Pandora! If you do one thing before you die - Watch this IMAX 3D Experience movie!!!

The movie was fun to watch, excelent 3-D, lots of detail. The movie was a lot like history because the story line played out like "dances with wolves" . The movie even had Wes Studi (one of the native american actors in DwW) in it. The language that the aliens were speaking sounded a lot like Sioux.
Minus that, the movie was well worth the price of admission

When I first seen the previews~ my husband wanted to see it. . I told him that I don't like those kind of movie and that I don't want to see any (blue) people. .

I saw this movie in IMAX: 3D and was absolutely blown away by the visual and sound effects. A lot of creativity went into creating the planet Pandora and all of its creatures. The animations was much more realistic than I was expecting--it was quite life-like. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone.

Best movie I've ever seen. The CGI was fantastic!! Unbelievable the work it took. Cudos to James Cameron. Looking forward to the others you have coming! I recommend seeing it in only IMAX 3D. I've seen it 3 times. Once in reg 3D good but it didn't compare to IMAX 3D. I've seen it twice in IMAX I can' get enough. My kids can't get enough either. Zoe Saldana and Sam Worthington are amazing actors. I must say Sam is very HOT! even in AVATAR form. It truely was an amazing film and experience. Definitely a movie buy when it hits the stores! I'm hooked. I hated to see the movie end.

Seeing this in IMAX 3-D was like going to another world. The effects were amazing and I was immersed inside the action. Even the previews were stunning in IMAX 3-D and I sat with my mouth open for almost the whole thing. Social consiousness message was delivered within a visually stunning package. I was totally "wowed" and had to see it twice.

why did i wait a month to see this? i usually like to watch a movie without the hassles of fighting for mid-theater position, or having a kid kick my seat all movie. so i prefer to wait until the rush is over....
this rule did not apply to cameron's latest adventure. the theater was packed, i did get a restless kid, and i was slightly off middle-none the less it was still the best movie i have seen this year.
amazing detail, compelling story line, and even a heart felt love story.
it was like pocohontas meets enemy mine.
all i can say is Bravo Cameron, if i could invest in your ticker, i would be a billlionaire.

The IMAX 3D version of Avatar was incredible. I saw it in 2D a few weeks ago but, after seeing it in IMAX 3D last night, I was amazed. The detail and depth of the film was stunning. I absolutely loved it. I cant wait for James Cameron to come out with the next film in this trilogy.

I was blown away by this fabulous movie!! I saw it in imax/3D!!! Wow. A MUST see for everyone from 6 up. Both of my 6 year old grandsons saw it and LOVED it! Beware of much battle violence at the last part. Wonderful love story/Sci fi. Highly recommend! Wonderful/spectacular animation.....would see it again. music is great!

Great film. See it in IMAX 3D!! Fantastic CGI & effects. Well acted by the leads and supporting actors. Superb photography. Great story telling. Something for everyone. The flight scenes were excellent. I expect this to be the blowout waward winner. Well worth the prcie of admission.

Avatar is absolute breathtaking in IMAX3D. I have seen both regular 3D & IMAX 3D and the only way to watch it is in IMAX 3D. It’s visually stunning and draws you in and keeps you there till the end. The story is rather standard and possibly cliché. Even if it is, it’s delivered with such style that the movie isn’t harmed. Another aspect of this film that is also surprising is the depth and development that Cameron dedicated to the culture and the language of the Na'vi and the animals and plants of Pandora. He created an entirely new and somehow believable alien world. I strongly recommend people to see it in IMAX 3D because it was meant to be in IMAX3D. It’s worth the money so don’t wait till the DVD/Blu-ray release.

The 3D was perfect. The sound is amazing... but over the top. I am positive that anyone who thinks this is okay... is headed for hearing issues. Southdale
Theater is impressive.
As in real life, the right wing military-corporative fascists are indeed the bad guys. The nature worshipers are “the people.” This is a bit of Dances with Wolves and Tarzan, though the indigenous people of the planet are granted a more advanced state via the freedom of science fiction.
It was painful to see the National Guard promotion before the movie began... especially since the hardware displayed seemed to be part of the story of the movie.

This was my second experience with Avatar in 3D so I was very excited about seeing it in IMAX. I would have more "brain space" to focus on the visual effects since I already knew the plot. Unforurtunately, in spite of paying extra for IMAX, the Newport Screen is not what I expect for an IMAX screen. It is flat. So, don't bother to spend the extra gas and ticket price to get an IMAX experience there - go to any local 3D movie screen - and DO see it in 3D. It is awesome. Maybe some day they will have late night showings at the Museum Center with a REAL IMAX screen.

The makers of "Avatar" have fashioned an amazingly beautiful, immersive and convincing world. The technical achievement is astonishing and nearly makes up for some cheesy dialogue and hackneyed storytelling (especially evident during the last third of the film). My involvement with the film was more on a 'gee whiz' level of being impressed rather than any kind of emotional one.

Avatar 3D IMAX transports the moviegoer into overwhelming entertainment unlike any movie before it. The story line thrills the conscious (as in those people willing to think). The scenery amazes the senses in an ethereal way. James Cameron's patience in producing this movie was pure focused genius!

Plot is familiar and already done ala Dances With Wolves, but the angle and manner in which the story is told is original and entertaining. The special effects are of course, just amazing. The details of the environment and the characters demand that you go see the movie against just to check out what you may have missed. Seeing it on IMAX 3D is the ONLY way to go! The movie has comedy, romance, intense action sequences and some very moving scenes (a complete package).
