The visuals in this movie were absolutely stunning! The action never stopped, and the 3 of us were never bored. This is honestly the first movie I've ever attended that almost NOBODY in the audience got out of their seats for the entire film, and there were no annoying conversations or phones ruining it. How can one be invigorated and calmed by the same movie? You just have to watch it and see. I'd really like to book a vacation to this magical land.

Absolutely fabulous. Sure ups the game for Hollywood. Don't expect the story line to match the visuals in splendor, but at least they picked a classic story of good guys against bad. Always satisfying. This is an epic film. See it in 3D if you can.

This was a fantastic movie! The scenery, color and ideas portrayed were second to none. Yes, this has the same type of story line as all good movies, adventure, tragedy, romance, vilans and the hero who comes thru at the last possible moment under grave circumstances. After all it is the story of the human experience and it is why we can all relate to it...
The consistancy of characters and the beauty of Pandora were excellent. I have seen the movie in 2D, 3D and IMAX 3D. IMAX 3D was the best and worth the extra money, although I enjoyed it each time I saw it.
P.S. The movie is 2 hours and 40 minutes long, but the time really goes by fast, so use the restroom first, you won't want to have to leave during the movie!

Did a great job of going from real life to animation. Wonderful visuals. Story was pretty straightforward. Kind of hits you straight on about how United States took over land from the Native Americans without regard for their rights or beliefs. Sat in the third row, so I would suggest getting to the show at least 45 minutes ahead of time to get a better seat.

I saw Avatar on a regular 3D screen, and loved it enough to pay for upping the ante.
A lot of people will say that this movie is a direct copy of Pocahontas and/or Dances with Wolves. While the story is very similar to both of these, there are plenty of elements that make the movie unique: the bioluminescent animals and plants, the fact that it's people controlling Avatars with their consciousness (versus contacting the natives directly), the bio-network that plays a huge role in the movie, and the fact that the military is operated by a spoiled and ignorant CEO (huge mistake).
The movie has a lot more originality than critics give it credit for in my opinion, and the visuals are just stunning.

Simply amazing. I don't quite know how to put into words the pure beauty of this movie. The story line was excellent, the photography and CGI effects were absolutely mind blowing, and this movie was worth every penny. Treat yourself to this movie in IMAX 3D.

Best movie my wife and I have seen. I can see why it won an award for best drama!! The action sequences are awesome!!! I would highly recommend seeing this movie in this format as I am sure that a regular screen will not do it justice. We can not wait for the sequel!!!! The time seemed to fly by, not seem like an eternity. 2hrs 40 min? Seemed like less!

Visually the best movie ever made up to this time. Captivating overall ideals, very touching and insightful and emotional. It tells alot about how living beings do and should treat one another, as well as all living things.
I've seen it 3 times, and will go see it two more times before it gets out of the theaters. See it in 3d and Imax, no other way comes close.

I'm not going to go into all the cliches, because most of them are true. This movie was everything I'd hoped it would be, because 2hrs and 40mins is a long time to sit through a movie that doesn't live up to the hype. I knew I would only go once, so I chose to see the IMAX 3D version. It was definitely worth the few extra dollars to see a movie that only comes along once in a decade, or maybe even a lifetime, that is truely a masterpiece of engineering and vision. Highly Recommended!!

Saw this Dec 19th... I couldn't get the movie out of my head... so we went again last night.
The story is romantic, sensual, action-packed and takes you through a range of emotions: pulse pounding action sequences, euphoric flight scenes, awe, victory, betrayal and more.
It is at times predictable, but satisfying. Like all good stories, it thrives in the re-telling.
Don't wait for video and think that your home theater can compare to the IMAX experience. See this in IMAX 3D while you can. Don't miss the experience.

I went to see Avatar with my husband on opening night. He wanted to see it while I really didn't. I'm so glad I did, and as of last night, I've now seen it FOUR TIMES! The first two in regular 3D as the IMAX shows were sold out, and the last two in IMAX 3D. It's great in 3D, but the IMAX experience is SO much better. Larger screen, better sound, and feeling the heavy fighting scenes - awesome! If you have an IMAX theater showing Avatar, I highly recommend it. There's action for the guys and romance for the gals - something for everyone!

I think this movie is best fit for 3-D.
2hrs 40min. seems long but after watching the movie, it didn't feel that long at all.
