I absolutely loved the movie. I believe James Cameron did a wonderful job making this movie. The movie was able to bring back the ability to draw you in and forget about the world for almost three hours. I honestly was able to just sit there and zero in on just the movie. Loved it very much!

It was great to see Sigourney Weaver again and i thoroughly enjoy the article on her in the Parade recently. Another new and upcoming actor Sam Worthington that really impresses me. But i was disappointed that i did not hear or see anything on Zoe Saldana which i assume was Sully's girlfriend.

I go to movies to escape the real world and it doesn't get better than Avatar to spend 2 hours and 40 minutes on Pandora. Avatar today is how Star Wars and Alien were in the late 70's when they first came out , ahead of their time. I can't wait for the directors cut on Blu-Ray but plan on seeing it again in IMAX 3D .

If your budget allows only one movie this year make it this one. Truely a "Cinematic Event." Don't worry if Sci-fi or Fantasy isn't your genre. This is "Battlestar Galactica" meets "Dances with Wolves." Sounds crazy but from the previews to the closing credits you will find yourself saying 'Wow" more than a few times. If you can see it in IMAX 3D. You will see it more than once!

Seeing Avatar at an IMAX theater, made this movie even more spectacular! It is a wonderfully beautiful movie, with plenty of deep meaning. To many it seems formulaic, but you need to look under the formula to truly appreciate the hidden meaning.

This film clearly underlines the fact that nothing beats the art of story telling. And when you have the CGI effects so classy to support the story - the results are simply out of the world (in this case 'Pandora' ).

Loved the show. If you want to watch the 3D version and get motion sick easily sit high up. There is so much movement going on and tons of effects. We were closer to the bottom of the theatre and our daughter was iffy. Aside from that side drama the movie was great. We really enjoyed it. Even our daughter said we had to own that one. Can't want to see the next 3D movie. They are really getting good at this.

3D IMAX experience was great and movie certainly demands accolades, however, it is a bit lengthy and becomes a little boring about 1 hour into the movie. The length could have been reduced easily to about 2 hours 10 min from 2 hours 40 min.
However, still doesn't beat Lord of the Rings.

Movies are, by their nature, an opportunity to set Real Life aside and indulge in a story. James Cameron has done precisely this with Avatar.
The film is wonderful. There are Good Guys to cheer, a Bad Guy or two to boo, a love story, a war story, a passion play, Disneyesque wonders; it is truly an impressive work. Amazingly, Cameron has richly woven all these elements together; all are given due emphasis as the story unfolds, and none (not even the 3-D) are overplayed to the point where they become a distraction.
Make the time to see Avatar; and take the whole family. Go wrap yourself up in the big, blue arms of this wonderful film; Real Life can wait for a few hours.

Very good movie. It was long, but I never got bored, which is more than I can say for a lot of long movies. The IMAX 3D experience is definitely worth the extra money, but catch a matinee. Take a drink with you if you think you might get queasy, or something for a headache after movie.

Cameron has done something very special here. We saw the movie in I-Max 3D and it was an incredible experience. The sensation of being within the movie can even add some mal-de mare like sensations among some folks. The story line flowed smoothly and the special effects are to be experienced by all. The cast did a great job in their performances and this movie is sure to garner many awards at the Oscars.

Stunning visually and a good enough story to make the 2hrs 40mins not seem interminable but some of the dialogue (particularly from Michelle Rodriguez's character) is poor and the story in itself is somewhat formulaic but it's definitely worth watching (in IMAX). So definitely go and see it in IMAX, it's an experience.

Amazed to find a sold out show after release a month ago, I was excited to see Avatar in IMAX 3-D. It was truly an immersion into another world and another way of living that will stay with me always. The plot wasn't all that original, it reminded me of Fern Gully on steroids! But the environment on Pandora, the relationship of the people to their god and their planet, and the similarity to the struggles here between indigenous people and western greed....all resonated.

Simply put; a great movie both visually and in regards to the storyling. I've seen the movie in a regular theater (not in 3D) and can honestly say that 3D was by far and away the best movie experience. I thought that the 3D would be somewhat cheesy, but not so! Definately a great storyline, great action sequences, and visually stunning.

I saw this movie at an Imax theater in 3-D. If you are able to do so, this is the way to go - don't wait for the DVD. This was such a visual movie - an absolute delight! I left the theater in a fog, and needed a few moments to come back into the "real" world :) The story was somewhat predictable and at the same time original - never disappointing. Worth the time and money for a complete escape for nearly 3 hours!

This movie is a game-changer. The Directors and producers have found a way to redefine the "Movie Experience." This movie uses the 3D Video & very well defined depth of sound to create an experience that is very immersive - literally & physically putting the viewer into Pandora and felling as if they are a part of this new alien world.
It is a "Must-See" in this original 3D ultra-wide screen format! If you don't get an opportunity to experience it as intended by the Producers, you will ask yourself what all the buzz is about. So, just dish out the $11-15 and go spend 2:40 of your time being wowed, and allow yourslef to be swept away to Pandora for a few hours.

Whether you are a casual moviegoer or a hardcore fan, Avatar is another master piece by James Cameron that should satisfy all audiences' tastes.
From special effects to plot and acting, the movie provides so much that the playing time of 160 minutes seems relatively short.
I would recommend that people watch it in Imax 3D (couple dollars more expensive than 2D or 3D) but it certainly is worth it!
