10/5 Is my #1 favorite film and I think will be for the next 5 years. If they ever make 3D TVs I would buy totally buy the DVD. I really won't get bored watching this movie more than once. It was like I was in the movie. I would recommend going to the IMAX. It's been out for about a month and the theater is still full.

Although a bit long, this movie was suspenseful, action packed, and futuristic. The special effects were amazing. Found the story to be typical love story, save the planet, and respect other cultures, but just in a highly technical and futuristic way. It was worth my $10!

In a word, Awesome!!! The most visually stunning movie I've ever experienced. Total immersion, it felt like I was right in the movie, best movie EVER!! I saw it both in IMAX 3D and regular non 3D... well worth the extra money to see it in IMAX 3D, but great either way.

I enjoyed the imax experience for the 3D movie Avatar. It set this movie experience apart from simply watching it on my home giant screen TV by making me feel like I was a true part of the movie itself. Loved the cinematography, the many details that made this special place almost real.

Avatar is one of the best films of 2009. No other movie can ever compete with Avatar. Why? Because Avatar has it all!! This isnt just another movie, its a work of art. I have never seen a movie that I have gone twice to see in the Imax. This film must be seen in 3d. Dont go to any theater, go to the IMAX. I promise you will be AMAZED.

The movie special effects were enjoyable. But I can't believe that this movie is not advertised as a remake of the 80's cartoon- fern gully.
even the characters look alike except for the pony tail. That took place in a rainforest with the seeds, a tractor and the guy who changed his mind when he became a part of the people.
We do need some original work.

definitely a must see! I highly recommend IMAX 3D to get the full effect, because this is something you don't get unless you see and HEAR it properly. The plot is so-so, the fight scenes could be a few minutes shorter, but, this is like seeing Star Wars, or 2001: A space odyssey for the first time. Truly a landmark!

I'll begin by saying the film is AWESOMELY BEAUTIFUL. Bar none, probably the best looking CGI I've ever seen in a film since Final Fantasy: The Spiritis Within.
That being said, the movie is empty. It's the same old story with Cameron. 1 to 2 hours of boring set up and the 'BAM!', some of the best action you'll see inside of 45 minutes. I fell asleep about an hour into the film PRAYING to the Na'vi Goddess that it would end soon.
Once you get past the beauty of the film, you'll realize you didn't really ingest much. And yes, I would recommend seeing it for the visuals...not because it's some 'GREAT' film.

Not one of the best movies I've ever seen, THE BEST! OK, so JC borrowed themes from many of the classics, including Tarzan, Star Wars, West Side Story, ET, The Matrix, Starship Troopers, etc. SO WHAT? DO NOT miss this 3D IMAX Experience! Where do I get my designer 3D glasses? I found myself in a strange but interesting world, to which I could easily relate. I can't wait until 3D is offered as a matter of standard fare on both the big and small screens!!!

amazing movie! i personally loved it.. i loved the effects the whole plot and it has a beautiful message .. you get out of the movies wanting to be one of the blue people lol .. i would recommend it to anyone and it is definetly one of those movies you have to watch .. James Cameron has used groundbreaking special effect technology to create a beautiful and fully realized 3D world. Unfortunately it is populated with two dimensional characters plodding through a trite, unimaginative, and utterly predictable plot that has already been done countless times before.
Of course, if you liked titanic, then you'll probably like Avatar as well.

The story is as classic as John Smith meets Pocahontas. However, James Cameron fills this alien world with so much detail and action that not a frame is waisted. It's made for 3D and should be seen that way.
