definitely 4.5 out of 5 stars, but you must see it in IMAX to get the full effect. I can't believe Tom Cruise managed to do all those stunts, especially some hair-raising ones at Burj Khalifa. No one else has his guts (or determination). Add an excellent cast (Paula Patton is really hot on screen), a little humor, and you've got a hit. it's a great date movie, but also lot's of fun for the entire family.

average western plot with a twist: aliens. some laughs and plenty of action scenes. I give it 4 stars, bc without a doubt, craig and ford made the movie believable; a decent supporting cast helped round out the plot, but don't expect too much else; and yes, the aliens are definitely creepy; a few scenes might even scare the kiddies!

very imaginative but it's way too long winded. please cut 20-30 mins from the 1st half of the movie. the fx was outstanding, and, it made the movie; I give 4 out of 5 stars bc the last hour had a series of action scenes; I finally felt that I was actually being entertained.

it's ok, but I wasn't rolling over laughing. cruise and diaz are very good together; the movie is predictable, but at times it was quite exciting (some of the action scenes were extremely well done!). definitely a date movie (nothing gross, no nudity, no extreme violence).

A landmark visual odyssey

definitely a must see! I highly recommend IMAX 3D to get the full effect, because this is something you don't get unless you see and HEAR it properly. The plot is so-so, the fight scenes could be a few minutes shorter, but, this is like seeing Star Wars, or 2001: A space odyssey for the first time. Truly a landmark!
