This movie is fantastic! Too bad it couldnt last longer! special effects were mind boggling....and contrary to the critics I didnt find the dialogue for the Marine boss stilted....it was fine. One of my top 5 movies ever!!! I will have to see it again

Excellent graphics and gimmicks, as expected. But, surprisingly, left me with a warm feeling afterwards. Simplistic storyline, but liked how aspects from different cultures were incorporated into designing the Navi population: Native American, African, Polynesian, Buddhist.

This movie is a feast for every one's eyes. Though a little longer than needed, it still keeps you captivated with the story line. Unlike a lot of allegations of hidden messages, the messages in this movie are quite open and quite appropriate for our time. Breathtaking scenes in IMAX 3D has redefined cinema production.

The special effects were amazing but the 3D made me a little dizzy. Perhaps this was because I had to sit in the first row since the theater was packed. The story line was a little cheesy but still good. Not a boring part in the whole movie.

The teams that put this together covered every conceivable detail. For many reasons, the casting of Sigourney Weaver was brilliant.
We saw this film in IMAX 3D and can't wait to find the time to go back and see it again. I'd seen other comments that this film would not be the same as Titanic with regards to a romance that kept bringing teenage girls in to see the film 10-15 times.
I'm only a guy---and an old one at that---but I think the romance in this movie is definitely equal to that in Titanic. And people won't be leaving this movie saying "The ship sunk. Get over it."
When this comes out in Blue-Ray (hopefully in 3D) it will be the catalyst to convert a number of HDTV holdouts. I hope some of it floats back to the filmmakers.

Avatar is a movie that has everything. Intriguing plot with surprising twists, excellent action sequences, and even some nice "deep" meaning behind it all. The whole movie experience was one of the best I've had in years, and I would recommend this movie to anyone!

This was the best movie I've seen in a very long time. The #D and Imax expirence was an awesome way to view this spectacular movie. Now I wish our home theater could produce this kind of viewing. Its a must see and buy when it is available.

In the top ten of Science fiction movies of all time. The landscapes are breathtakingly beautiful, especially with the 3D, the characters are very well done, the story is moving. There are political undertones not mentioned by the critics, but they are not overdone. Hope there are sequels.

Thought provoking movie about the evils of GREED. Visually stunning. Great movie experience. I wish everyone could see it.
The villains, motivated by greed and a might makes right philosophy are excellent and remind us of many present day situations.
Here in Arizona a copper company is exchanging some worthless desert land for a beautiful state park so they can mine copper.
Many others have told about the cinematic experience and it is excellent.
Do yourself a favor and take the family to see Avatar as soon as possible.
You'll be talking about it for days.

I saw Avatar last night in IMAX 3D. Without a question this is on the only way to really enjoy this movie. There are lots of colors and depths to every scene. Although computer generated, all the alien characters and animals move smoothly as in real life and except for some minor things like the mecha, you can't tell where the animation is separated from live action. In IMAX 3D there is a really neat depth to the film. The colors are fantastic, bright and visual in every scene. So why not 5 stars? Well the story is very predicable. It is a common theme that has been played in many films before.

One of the very few movies that left me in awe after it was done. It's effect lasted for an hour. It left me feeling good. Run time is almost 3 hrs but it felt like they went by in 5 minutes. The messages in the movie are really cool. So it's not only just awesome CGI. I had underestimated James Cameron but now I have much much respect. Story was great, message was great, effects were awesome, cast were outstanding. 10/10 movie. I'm gonna watch it again.

IMAX 3D is the way to see this movie. It's like you are THERE. You are on Pandora...flying with the characters...or being chased by the creatures! Visually stunning and an outstanding story to go with it. Thought provoking and inspirational. I can hardly wait to see it again. Thank you, James Cameron, for another terrific movie! It was worth the wait! Only one negative: The foul language was unnecessary. Luckily, the Na'vi are above it! Merry Christmas!

Avatar is a hoot to watch in 3D Imax, but the imagination and attention to detail are in the visuals, not in character or story. This is a cowboys and Indians story in which all the Indians are good and most of the cowboys are bad. Although it doesn't seem as if much intel is needed for the cowboys' firebombing strategy, it is the hero who gathers it. He balances that by killing cowboys to save the ecosystem of the invaded planet. This is the good guy? A small thing, the first two notes of the main musical theme are sampled from the Titanic theme, that can wake you from the dream. Because the visuals are so amazing, this is still worth seeing. I don't know that I would have been as tickled if I had seen it on a normal projection.

This $300 million, 15 year project was every bit as good as advertised. The 3D was used in the right spots and not over used to distract from the great story and stunning scenery. The characters were well done and believable. Great Movie.

Avatar is stunning visually and emotionally rewarding. It mixes magic, myth and modern mayhem with action and beauty into a spectacle - the kind of movie studios are not making. This film is more like big family pictures of the past than the action pics of the last few years. Take the whole family except for the very young.

This movie blew my mind. It wsa visually AMAZING. The storyline was also quite good. one of the parts i loved about the movie was the political messages that it had somewhat subtely hidden in the plot and lines of the characters. An example is when the colonel says that they will fight terror with terror, clearly a bash at george bush. another was when jake was telling the Na'vi that the "sky people" had come to pandora because they had already destroyed their own planet's resources, this is clearly a reference to global warming and pollution on earth. But also just thinking about a world such as pandora was incredible, personally i would have done the transfer that jake did, but at the very beginning of the movie!

I LOVED this movie. IMAX 3D was the best way to go. They did do a great job making the case for the native people and made the corporate guys out to look bad which I do think happens in our society. I did feel a little sad because every military personnel I have ever personally known have great morals and ethics and try to fight for what is right but I guess you can get a bad apple now and then and these were ex military that now worked for the corporation.....I am not an environmentalist but think they did a good job of making the case for all living things. I would see it again and also take my teens.
