I saw Avatar last night in IMAX 3D. Without a question this is on the only way to really enjoy this movie. There are lots of colors and depths to every scene. Although computer generated, all the alien characters and animals move smoothly as in real life and except for some minor things like the mecha, you can't tell where the animation is separated from live action. In IMAX 3D there is a really neat depth to the film. The colors are fantastic, bright and visual in every scene. So why not 5 stars? Well the story is very predicable. It is a common theme that has been played in many films before.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
