Movie was almost 3 hours, but we would have loved it if it had gone on even longer. It was fantastic. The kind of experience that will feed your dreams and spark your imagination and reinforce your heart.

I found the effects to be outstanding. It made for an entertaining movie with admitedly strongly "tree-hugger" story line.
However, once you were past that, you could just enjoy the flick.
I would recommend it to others (and did).

The IMAX screen is definitely the most appropriate venue for this movie. The 3D was awesome and all the effects were just amazing. The floating mountains and all the wildlife really amazed me. It's a great story - capturing business, environmental, armed forces and a touching love story.
We were ready to buy more tickets and see it again immediately if we hadn't had to get home to relieve the baby sitter!

Watching in 3D is amazing. I love the fantasy Navi creatures, fauna, jungle, etc. Unfortunately, the story is hackneyed, and the dialogue is dull.

This was the PERFECT movie! It had every element a good movie should have and, although highly sci-fi, everything made sense and was believable. Seeing it in 3D really bade you feel part of the movie. James Cameron must be a very disturbed person to dream up the world he did, but he has a beautiful mind. By the end, I wanted to be an Avatar and live on Pandora! Can't wait for the sequel!

went to this movie expecting a partially animated movie with a childish story line.
I left the movie totally impressed, probably one of the best movies I have seen in years. the story line was strong and the special effects were unbelieveable. I can't wait for the sequel.

The movie was amazing. I'd never been to a 3-d movie, which made the experience even better. James Cameron has delivered another "king of the mountain" moment with this one.

I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D. It was phenomenal. I felt as if I were inside the action and at times, actually ducked. I thought the acting was good, the story interesting, with many parallels to our history and the history of many nations caught in the oppressor / oppressed synapse. I thought this picture was sheer genius and wondered how J. Cameron had conceived the plot and technology and had found people to execute it for him. It should win best picture, best special effects and best costumes. I think I would like to see it again. I've already seen it twice.

I am not a movie buff and does not write movie reviews but I had to share my thoughts on this movie. It is an amazing movie both in its message and also a crazy experience in IMAX. This movie really makes you sit back and think about what is important in life. NOT to sound corny, but It makes you want to be a better person and reminds us to all do our part be kinder to our mother earth. I wish I didnt wait to long to see but better late then never!

This movie is awesome. The best movie I've seen in a long time. It has a very familiar plot, but it was great to have a happy ending. My wife and I were on the edge of our seat the whole time. I think you need to go in with low expectations and then just sit back for the ride.

Not a very good story line. A cross between Dances With Wolves, Star Wars and Braveheart. 3D effects were disappointing. Ms. Weaver's role was a joke. I was waiting for Aliens to appear. The movie was OK, but much too long. I wish I had waited to rent it for my big screen.

This has something for everyone. Sci-fi junkies, fairy tale buffs, computer geeks, or just someone who appreciates all the vibrant colors and scenery. 2 thumbs up from us. It's a must be seen at the theatre movie and def. in 3D...do NOT wait for the DVD to come out. There is no way that it could capture all it has to offer visually.

our first experience @ IMaxx 3D and awesome! We've been recommending this to everyone we know! Avatar reminded us of FernGully as far as the plot/story HOWEVER, with the 3D a totally new experience.
We strongly recommend Avatar at IMaxx and plan seeing many more movies.

Great movie!! This was my first IMAX 3D experience and it was awesome! The movie was entertaining the entire way through and never had a boring lull. The movie definitely has a "go green" and "save the planet" theme running through out the entire movie. Overall, liked the movie alot and really would not mind seeing it again because of how amazing the graphics were. There was so much to look at! The IMAX 3D version of Avatar is the way to go! Otherwise, you are missing out!

I went with zero expectations and came away wanting more. The animation and the story sucked me in easily. Seeing it at an IMAX theatre made the experience even better. Maybe he will write a series of books, but I'm not so sure I want to see a sequel. Why mess with perfection.

This was a first on two counts for me. My first IMAX movie and my very first 3D. It was all and much more than I expected. Everything felt so real and close up. I would recommend this movie to anyone and will go back to see other 3D movies there when they come out. Can't wait.

I loved the cinematography, and the animation was amazing! The story line was very predictable and unbelievable, but enjoyable nonetheless. I would highly recommend the movie. After all we are going to the movies to be entertained, not watch a documentary! James Cameron does it again!

The movie's effects are not only seamless, the effect truly draw you in. The small touches like the sparks, wires, and the creatures of Pandora coming close to you make you feel part of the action. The plot is well written, the acting credible and believable. The story is classic. I would see this movie in 3D again and again. If this movie has a sequel, it will be a must see!
