Avatar should be experienced (you cannot simply watch this film) in IMAX 3D. The technical wizardry of the film is the real story here for it puts you right into the action. You feel as though you are part of the story. Unfortunately, the story itself is basic, pedantic and with stilted dialogue at points. Nevertheless, you should see this movie if for no other reason than that it is an historic breakthrough in cinema. Movies will never be the same after Avatar because it has raised the bar so high and revealed what a film can deliver in terms of vibrant aliveness as a movie-going experience. It comes closest to what I imagine the "feelies" were supposed to be in Brave New World.

One of the best CGI effects ever. This highly anticipated creation from James Cameron does not disappoint. The strange yet familiar fantasy world resembles earth in many ways. Numerous issues we face today are presented in this film. Challenges of the changing environment, the ever greedy humans determined to drive their species to extinction. Inter-racial relations between the Navi and humans mirror the reality of understanding and learning to share our world with people from different countries. Love overcomes all challenges and social boundaries. Even the ultimate sacrifice of life is worth being with the one you love.

James Cameron did it again! Epic movie with no complaints. I went in more interested in the 3D technology but left with a gratifying movie experience. The 3D wasn't all that to be honest. I think watching it without the 3D would have been just as pleasing. But IMAX is the only way to go with this movie. The graphics, clarity, sound, and everything is just better there!

First class. Long but enthralling. The 3D was spectacular(sorry) in that it emphasised the beauty of the imagined world.
The principal character started as an average paralysed grunt given a new existance through transposition into an alien body 'grown' with genetic engineering. The story was a new twist on the Noble savage and a Gaia where the world, life and energy are all understood at last. You must see it in 3D IMAX.

Imax 3D is over the top. worth the $. Avatar was spectacular - the graphics and special effects terrific. 3D OK nothing really came out at you. Story and characters heartwarming and sincere. Great Movie, although PG-13 had some surprises. several GD bombs dropped. and one near intercorse scene, 15 and up.

The IMAX 3D experience was the best! My daughter and I really enjoyed this movie, it was sad and inspirational all at the same time. Would see again and again.

wow! I couldn't believe the beauty created in Avatar. The story rolling ecology and love and giving animals the equality of being partners. Not to mention the 3-d landscapes. Best I have ever seen. The heights and depths. The glow in the dark nightlife. Fantastic imagination. Fantastic portrayal.

Words cannot describe the experience i had after watching Avatar, amazing does not give this movie justice but it's a start. The costuming, special effects, storyline, everything just flowed and captured the attention of every age group. James Cameron did an excellent job. To simply say how I feel - I LOVED IT!!!

The movie in 3D and IMAX is the way to go for this one. The visual effects and sound system made for an exciting film. The plot is pretty predictable but that isn't what I go to a movie like this for. It was a bit expensive but well worth the few extra dollars. Buy your tickets online and show up early to get a good seat. It is a long movie but I never noticed it dragging or the need to doze or even leave my seat.

great fun for my first ever 3d experience. i usually don't like animated films but i did enjoy this a lot. only problem was that it was very long and the sound was on way too loud

Worst expierence ever with actually purchasing the tickets from this site. Site crashed for several hours, by the time it came back online the showtime myself and friends wanted to go to was sold out. Bought 7 tix, it errored out, ended up charging me twice. They worked it out well at the theater, refunded me the extra tix.
NOW FOR THE MOVIE.THIS MOVIE WAS AMAZING!! Once we got in the theater,the movie must be seen in IMAX. The colors, the world the director paints in front of your eyes, it is all amazing. The effects are awesome and the action is there. The movie is long, but it is done well because you feel as though you become part of the world the movie takes place in. It will be sad to see this in non-IMAX 3D.Lives up to all the hype

I was worried when I went to see this movie because so many people hyped it up for me. I thought it might not be as great as everyone was making it out to be. But I was pleasantly surprised. The movie is lovely. It has a great story and I was very excited with this take on the movie Ferngully. It is definitely a must see and cannot wait until it comes out on Blu-Ray!

I loved this movie. It was a real movie-going event for me and my husband. We splurged for the IMAX 3-D experience and felt it was worth every penny. James Cameron has created a magical world and brought all the flora and fauna therein to life and light. The story, while somewhat predictable, has heart, and the final struggle between good (nature, indiginous people) and bad (corporate greed, mercenaries) is not won easily, nor is its outcome sure until almost the very end.

I wanna go see it agian. The 3D experience was amazing, Best movie I have seen in theaters for a long time. There were a few things that didnt logically follow though. For example how could arrows go through a bulletproof helicopter windshield? The humans are advanced enough to reach another planet but not advanced enough to bulletproof the windows of a military vehicle? There are a few other dumb things like that but overall worth seeing for the imagery and effects.

The most spectacular 3D Movie experience I have ever seen.
The movie itself had a plot, character development, action, love interest, cultural differences being overcome and was all put together beautifully.
Couldn't think of anything they could have done to improve on.
They brought it to a whole new level one that was enjoyed by all.

This is one of the best movies we have seen! The scenery was fantastic. The interplay between humans and the computer graphic aliens and their world was superbly done! This is a must see! I recommend seeing it a few times, as there is so much to see, it is possible to miss some of the details on only one viewing.
