Great Visuals; Weak Plot

Avatar should be experienced (you cannot simply watch this film) in IMAX 3D. The technical wizardry of the film is the real story here for it puts you right into the action. You feel as though you are part of the story. Unfortunately, the story itself is basic, pedantic and with stilted dialogue at points. Nevertheless, you should see this movie if for no other reason than that it is an historic breakthrough in cinema. Movies will never be the same after Avatar because it has raised the bar so high and revealed what a film can deliver in terms of vibrant aliveness as a movie-going experience. It comes closest to what I imagine the "feelies" were supposed to be in Brave New World.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
