I know some say the plot is weak and predictable, but I found Avatar thoroughly entertaining What a beautiful film. I want to be 10 feet tall, blue with a tail and a long sensuous braid. cant wait to see it again!!! Make the effort to see Avatar in an I-max 3-D

I watched this in IMAX 3D however, I did not see any significant difference between the IMAX screen and a normal screen. Normally, IMAX screens have a dome - this IMAX Screen did not... Save your money - just see it in 3D.

This movie was absolutely amazing. I did not want to see it at all, but was hooked in just minutes. The 2hr and 40 minutes flew by. I would recommend this to anyone!

I have now seen this movie twice!!! First time was Avatar 3D and second IMAX 3D. I was just as amazed the second as the first at the story line, imagination and great moral inference. I will purchase this movie when I can get it in IMAX 3D for my home movie collection. Took 6 members of the family with me the second time and we drove 2 hours to see the movie. Everyone was as excited about it as I had been; concluding that it is a world class act and best movie ever!!

I lowered my expectations because of all the hype surrounding the movie--thinking, there is no way it's as good as everyone says. Boy, was I wrong! James Cameron has set the bar for all 3D movies to be judged by with this movie, and set it pretty high! It's an amazing story, well developed---as well as a feast for the eyes! It's not a waste of time or money to see it 3D IMAX!

I can't recommend this movie enough! Go see it in IMAX! It is incredible! Yes, the story and dialog could have used a little more attention, but trust me, if you see this movie in IMAX 3D, you won't notice anything except how beautiful, action-packed and stunning this movie is.

The experience in 3D and Imax was amazing. The movie dialog and contex is incredeble. It wakes you into a world of wonders in nature, and tells the beauty and force of mother nature and love. Will defenitly recommend this movie, we are planning on watching it again. :-)

A must see in Imax 3D. I can't imagine all that you would miss in a regular theatre showing. Best Imax movie I've ever seen. You'll love this even if you hate sci-fi. I was very surprised to find that I really liked the story instead of just the action, graphics, etc. A must see.

This might be the most spectacutlar movie experience of all time. Definitely see it in IMAX 3D. The format doesn't get in the way, it makes you a part of this wonderful world. The action is great, the love story is compelling and the characters are all believable. This is one I intend to return to for another viewing. Don't miss this movie!!!!!

Went to this cause daughter wanted to see and wow was I surprised. It was absolutely fantastic. I think almost everyone will love this movie. The imagery is amazing and the story is well thought out. You have to see this.

When special effects don’t look like special effects, when alien life actually looks alien, and NOT like humans wearing makeup, and when 3-D actually looks you're standing on the sidelines watching the action from a less-than-safe distance... that’s when it stops being a movie, and starts being an experience.
And the story is AMAZING. Good, evil, love, betrayal, it's all there. And I love how the director didn’t pad the cast with huge stars. This movie stands on its own without being propped up by big stars competing for screen time and bickering over top billing. Great decision!
And don't even THINK about seeing this in 2-D…Spend the extra 4 bucks and upgrade your flight to 1st-class for your trip to Pandora. Believe me, it's worth it!

From a purely creative standpoint the movie is amazing and well worth all the hype. I saw it in IMAX 3-d and I really did feel like I was in the movie. On the flip side, the storyline is engaging but hackneyed and I felt a bit manipulated at the end. Come on, "Unobtainium" as the elusive element that the corporation is after? A little subtlety could have helped the movie a great deal, but I don't think that is in Cameron's playbook.

Phenomenal movie. The graphics are amazing, the plot is compelling and captivating, the characters are very well rounded and just draw you in.
I took my 4yr old, 9yr old and 13yr old as well as my father and uncle (who is a self appointed critic) and everyone absolutely LOVED this movie experience.
Can't wait to see it several more times in the theater, then own it when available.

I am happy that I have not set my expectations sky high but they were really high going for an IMAX 3D experience for the first time. Movie is simply excellent with very little doubt about anything that was put in the movie. I feel this movie will revolutionize how movies are made from this point on. Resolution of the movie was just incredibly high allowing to see lots of content with just 25-30ft away from the screen... It felt I am looking at the screen of 15x10 ft with resolution of at least 3x1080p.
To really provide real review for this movie, you have to watch it couple of times and then split the review into: 3D review (technology, etc) and then real review of the movie...

For me the movie was so fantastic in 3D IMAX. There were times I was just so into being in the forest and part of the movie. The story was one we have seen before and will see again. Yet, James Cameron's special effects and camera angles makes me want to see this again before it leaves the theatre. Go see this movie in 3D IMAX. You will be sorry if you don't. Just one man's opinion.

Avatar is the best movie I have seen in theaters is a very long time. I have seen it twice now (in 2d and 3d) and I can't count the number of times I had goosebumps. The movie is simply gorgeous. The bioluminescence in the forest scenes are spectacular and well worth the extra dollars to see in 3d-not to mention everyone else. And the combat sequences and locations make this movie and epic for the ages.

The visual effects and sound were spectacular and the plot followed the likes of Ferngully and Dances with Wolves, but that made its impact no less greater (DWW is 20 years old now). IMAX is definitely the way to watch what Cameron intended.

As a special treat, I invited my family and two friends (6 of us) to attend this movie, ages ranging from 12 to 64. We ALL thoroughly enjoyed the movie. The 3D IMAX visual and sound effects were outstanding, the storyline appealing to all of us. As a matter of fact, we would enjoy seeing it again - it was that great! The night scenes were mezmerizing, the flight scenes breath-taking - there was nothing lacking in this awesome experience - even a love story! Sounds too good to be true, but it was well worth the money! You gotta see it!

I agree with the reviews of the movie in general( FX awesome, good action); but, i also have to point out the misrepresentation:(. The trailer shows one of the major characters of the actual cartoon "Ang". The movie hasnone of the characters or anything from the cartoon. Am tired of people using popular titles to push their sociopoltical views.

This is a turning point in the techniques of making movies. This is one of the most beautiful, sensous (in the sense of overwhelming sensory beauty) and truly remarkable movies I have ever seen. If you are able to appreciate a gorgous sunset, you will love this movie.

Everything about the IMAX experience is worth it EXCEPT ... if you have to sit in the first 3 rows and at either of the far ends. They say every seat is a good seat but I don't agree. I wish someone had told me that you have to arrive ONE HOUR early to get a decent seat. Hurraz & Kudoz to James Cameron for bringing an age-old message to bioluminscent life. I'm seeing it again in "real 3D" and again as "regular" film. Enough layers for me to absorb that I will spend the money to do this.
