A masterpiece of filmmaking! All 5 of us sat with our jaws dropped at the closing credits. Cameron has another oscar winner... it is amazing!

Inspite of the movie being long you couldn't help but to be completely mezmorized by the action-packed, 3-D effects and colors this movie had to offer. I highly recommend it and honestly this is one movie that you won't ever complain about being lengthy. It's well worth it!

Saw the movie twice- first in regular 3D and then in IMAX 3D which was way better. Everything about this movie is incredible - the story, characters, special effects, the message with regard to our relationship with people, our earth, government, greed and power. It was one of the best cinematic experience I have ever had. It will blow you away!! Definitely a must see and purchase when it comes out on DVD!

Avatar is the reinvention of the Hollywood Western. But, this movie goes beyond this perspective, introducing a moral value of LIFE and the connections all forms of life have to each other. In this way, AVATAR calls attention to our ecological disaster that's speedily underway... hopefully not long enough to make our HOME a sterile desert. And, calls attention to the social/cultural differences that need to be bridged and not destroyed. It's a movie of war, love, corporate greed, environmental conservation and spirituality. My "BRAVO" to director James Cameron for being able to touch these subjects in the right measure to make the story entertaining with substance to take home.

It's remarkable how special effects technology has improved even since the Lord of the Rings trilogy. The special effects plus 3D make Avatar a ground breaking film. That said, the technology does not detract from the story, which is the most important aspect of any movie. James Cameron has done it right.

As a huge Sci Fi guy, I never thought I would compare an all time favorite such as Star Wars to another movie in my life time... When I left the theater, I couldn't remember another movie which had me on the edge of my seat since Star Wars and on top of that (I hate to admit) brought an occassional frog to my throat and tear to my eye. Don't worry guys you're sweetheart will like it more and probably wont be paying attention to you. This movie has the classic poor boy meets rich girl story theme with a happy ending, but exceeds any plot with its graphics and intensity. I saw Star Wars at least five times in the theaters before it came out on VHS. This show is a must see on Imax 3D (if you can)!!!!!

This was my third viewing, my second 3D viewing, and my first IMAX viewing. I could watch this movie once a week for the rest of my life! After my first viewing, I felt the same kind of euphoria that I did for the LOTR trilogy and the Star Wars movies. Go see it, many times!

Movie was pretty good, maybe a little bit long but kept us interested 90% of the time. The graphics and special effects are really amazing, better than reviews can really describe. We had sort of bad seats in the imax theater, but it still was very good.

The hour or so of the film I saw was amazing, but seeing some of the jerky action scenes on such a large screen in 3D maid my wife break out in cold sweats and need to throw up. If you are planning on going to see this with anyone who is pron to motion sickness or eye strain, skip it and see it on the regular screen.

An amazing and captivating masterpiece of a film with outstanding breakthrough technology in 3D rendering and wonderful level of skill in capturing the original actor's expressions in their avatar characters. You can almost reach out and touch the characters and the scenery, they are so convincing and lifelike. After seeing this movie in regular 3D and standard mode, I will not go back to ordinary theaters for another movie intended for IMAX 3D. This film was also made from the heart and I hope others can hear what it is saying. Avatar has my highest recommendation!

After reading the critical reviews, I was a bit hesitant, but went to see it anyway (in 3D Imax) with my father in law. We both were wowed by it. (And having seen more than a few movies in our lifetimes, we're not easily wowed!) The plot, which many critics have derided, I liked -- a bit predictable, perhaps, though it has enough novelties and twists to keep your attention. And the 3D FX are simply outstanding. Cameron has outdone himself (again).

It is no wonder that it took ten years and 10 minutes worth of credits to make this movie. It will be the new standard for future films to emulate. It was awesome!
You must see this movie in IMAX and 3D to get the full effect of this visual wonder. It will be an experience that you will not forget. Not only do you get to visit an alien world, but you are in the alien world.
It has everything; futuristic visual and sound effects, outlandish science fiction, handsome good guys, bad guys, pretty ladies, exotic scenery and a love story.The movie even verifies the rule of "it's not nice to fool with Mother Nature." What else could you want or need?

Starting 2010 with a new favorite movie was unexpected. This film raises the bar for "special effects" to a much higher level . . . one I didn't believe possible. Great story, great action, great movie. I will see this one at least two more times in the IMAX. My grandkids loved it too! Thanks . . . HOLLYWOOD for a new classic.
