This movie was incredible!! The only way to watch is Imax 3-D!! The images were amazing and the story never hit a boring point. It totally kept my 10 year old son's attention - even being long. Awesome movie to go see!!

Gone are the days of enduring the agony of the poor quality 3d effectsof an excellent movie. I was just as impressed with the 3d effects of this movie as I was with this thrilling sci-fi epic saga. I am looking foward to seeing the non 3d version of this adventure. The robotics, computer animation and overall visual effects are second to none. Can't wait for the sequil.

Wonderful effects and cinematography. Entertaining from beginning to end. I think my granddaughter had cried at the end. She loved it. So wonderful. It's what movies are supposed to be. PERFECT!!!!!

I was convinced I would not like the movie. I saw it in IMAX 3D and liked it a lot. I like the story line, the 3D, the music. I think that the bad guys could have been developed more.

This movie shown on the IMAX 3D is incredible. I believe this will be remembered as one of the major step changes in filmmaking, at least as ground-breaking as Star Wars was. The 3D effects were subtle enough to help draw you into the scenery without having to wait for an arm or creature jump out of the screen. The blending of the animation with real characters was fantastic. In no time it has you forgetting that the aliens are images. And the story line had something for most everyone to connect with. You need to see this movie, and the IMAX 3D only makes it better. We'll be going again.

In a word...awesome! This is a beautiful movie. The visual experience and the emotions of the story are very fulfilling. I am biased towards excellent sci-fi, but this is not only that, but truly a great movie. The themes of the story are not necessarily new, but the presentation takes us to an amazing world and the production and acting are top level, from all characters. I look forward to seeing it again! If you haven't seen it - you should, and soon.

Two out of the four movie-goers had not experienced IMAX 3D before, and were AMAZED at the special effects. We ALL enjoyed the story line. Most people are commenting about the basic story not being unique, but I think the overall message is meaningful to each person in her/his own heart.

Saw this movie in 3D IMAX. The storytelling was brilliant letting the audience learn about the world of Pandora along with the main character. The scenes were lush and complex. The music was gripping, engaging and evocative- bravo James Horner. The actors and Avatars were full of life. Everyone I was with (teens and adults) felt as though we were in the world of the Na'vi and the drive home in the "real world" seemed pale and drab in comparison. Rather than the 3D effect "jumping out" at you it is so seemless that you find yourself reaching out to touch the images many times during the film. On a scale of 1-10 we gave it a 20!!

got a refund on the tickets before the movie started, over sold on the tickets, no usher asking people to move in, and I will not pay $15 a ticket and sit in the first 4 rows. I bought tickets early and showed up 45 min before the show. I will NEVER go to the Lynhaven mall theater again for ANY movie.

I thought the movie was very well presented, and monitored in the IMAX Theater. I was made aware of this more because of the one small moment when the film was out of focus and then this was corrected almost instantly.
The story and plot were, as many have said, not new. "Dances with Wolves" meets "The Last Samurai" ..... in space. This film, however, is more about the total experience and emersion into another world both in the story, and in the new innovations. (updated 3d and Motion Capture) And as an experience it succeeded brilliantly. And it also gives a well needed boost to the Theater Experience in a time when there is much competition for entertainment in other venues.

This movie will appeal to most adults (and alot of teens) for is amazing and in depth storyline and wonderful use of special efx to ehance the plot and characters. James Cammeron vision was like watching a dreamscape unfold before you. The movie is long but it's length enhances the development of the characters and story. Sci.Fi.fans and fantasy fans will love it best. I have friends who have already seen this movie twice and plan on a third time. Also this is truly a "big screen" film. I can't imagine watching at home on DVD (especially the IMAX 3 D experience).

Not as impressed by the story. A little too simplistic: noble savages/Good, technology people/Bad. Otherwise you will be wowed. But someone should have warned me, I spent the 1st 30 minutes becoming motion sick and spent the next 20 with my eyes closed trying to get over it. I saw this in IMAX 3D and have migraines and I've seen other posts that say this will give you a migraine or motion sickness. I did get a splitting headache at the same time, but not a migraine. I finally got over it and enjoyed the amazing new world James Cameron created.

The experience of this movie in Imax 3D is the most intense I've ever had (short of mind altering substances). The movie itself is great, but the ground-breaking visual effects really set it apart, and Imax 3D makes it feel like you are really on Pandora. Anyone slamming this movie about politics is out of their mind or grumpy or didn't see it in 3D. I'll see it again for sure.

This is a very wonderful movie. I drove 52 miles to watch this movie on Imax 3d and i am glad as it is worht it.This movie will take you to a complletely different world and the CGI images look as if they are so real.The 3D images will show a splendid scenario of the planet Pandora .You don't see any scary or cheap 3D tricks that will poke you in your eyes or make you get scared just for the heck of 3D effect.Director Jamess Cameron did a superb work and it is completely a director film.I will be watching this movie second time.The only frustrating thing i faced is people sitting in the far rows are saving empty seats for some one standing ouside in the line and i finally ended up watching the movie in the second row form the screen.

I walked out of the theater a bit disappointed at how dull the real world looked. Seriously. Not to sound hyperbolic, but this was quite possibly the most amazing thing I've ever seen. Definitely the best cinematic experience I've ever had.
During the initial and subsequent screenings, the experience was not interrupted by gaps in the CGI. At no time did I find myself unconvinced. It was fully immersive.
That said, I can't imagine seeing Avatar in any other format than IMAX 3D. In fact, if you do manage to miss this once in a lifetime opportunity, or see it on a regular screen, you should probably just gouge out your eyes, because it would appear you aren't using them to their fullest capability anyway.
