This was my second time seeing Avatar in 3D but the first time in IMAX and it was totally worth it. I cannot describe the difference IMAX makes for this movie. The sounds and visuals were much more vibrant. This is the new level in visual effects. Oh...and although formulaic, I thought the story line was very captivating. A must see in IMAX....

Truly amazing. I rarely go to the movies, but I just had to see this one, mostly to see if it lived up to all the hype surrounding it. I was not disappointed. The scenery is breathtaking and the story wonderful - it rings so true about our society today and has a great love story as well. The visual effects are awesome. It was long, but I was so immersed in the movie, I could easily have sat there longer if it had kept going. I can't wait to see it again. If I could give it more than 5 stars I would.

Movie was very good, plot similar to Apocalypse Now though, impressive visual's which reminded me of Roger Dean's art. Very entertaining..saw this in IMAX theater.. would highly recommend this over the regular theater.

The story was good, but the 3D visual experience blew my mind. By far the most amazing thing I've ever seen on a screen. Elements of the Matrix, Lord of the Rings, but the 3D immersion in the gorgeous world of Pandora was at a whole new level.

This movie was the whole package, great story, great artwork, and incredible CGI effects that were enhanced by the IMAX 3D experience. It transformed me into the world that I was watching on screen and made me feel apart of it. A great great experience.

Avatar is a great movie; I tell my friends if you want to get off planet (forget your troubles) for a while go see it. The time goes by so fast and you will see a bit of our [humanity's] problem's elegantly portrayed.
I had seen the movie on a regular 3D screen the week before, so wasn't too impressed by the IMAX 3D Experience... I'm not sure this movie was originally made for the IMAX format; At any rate it is a must see film, go and enjoy yourself abit.

Avatar is by far the best epic story since Titanic. Whether you're looking for a love story, action, or sci-fi, you will find it all in this movie. I've seen it twice now, and am likely to see it one more time before it leaves the IMAX theaters by my house.

I have seen it twice now in the IMAX theater and it held up perfectly the second time around. Some people have commented that it did not go far enough in terms of being about a violent conflict, but I feel it is pragmatic in recognizing the need for defensive violence when necessary. It is the first movie I have seen to have a full representation of respect for all living creatures and developed a full strong female lead character! This is one that every girl and woman should see.

this is one of the most compelling movies I have ever seen. Absolutely stunning visuals, coupled with superb action and a love story that adds to the movie rather than detracts and you end up with a masterpiece. This was one movie experience that I was not ready to have end. 2 hours and 40 minutes was not too long, it could have been longer and I would have still been enthralled. This is one of the few movies that are worthy of multiple viewings.

After hearing so much about the movie, even the political whining, I expected to be impressed. I was blown away. The IMAX 3D was totally immersive...I really felt like part of the action. Classic struggle between good and evil; the underdog versus the powerful; man vs. nature...excellent literature, exceptional presentation. Go and see this in IMAX 3D!

This movie was my first IMAX movie. I wish all movies could be shown in IMAX. The image was so real and detailed. This will be the perfect blueray movie to own. This is probably one of the best made movies of all time. Amazing story along with amazing acting and production. 5 stars from me.

This movie was just plain awesome. The storyline was great and the special effects were mind boggling. I am glad I was persuaded to watch this in Imax 3D. You MUST watch it this way to get the full effect. Caution to those who get motion sick. I don't, but most of the people I was with had to take their glasses off during some of the flight scenes. A MUST SEE!!!

I am a 59 year old movie buff. I had seen Avatar 3 times prior to driving 150 miles to Kennesaw, GA to see it in IMAX 3D.
The experience was far richer in quality, sound, picture and 3D effect.
I highly recommend seeing it more that once. The first time you are so overwhelmed with it all that you cannot really appreciate many of the important aspects. The beauty, the realistic facial expressions, the detail of the environment. This movie is far beyond anything you have experienced in a theater.
Go see it with someone you care about. Then go see it again. You will be happy you did. Then look up the back-story (Wired magazine) to truly understand that this movie and technology are the dawning of a new age of visual experience.

Although the story line is somewhat predictable and trite, it plays very well to allow James Cameron to display the outstanding visual affects in this film. I waited to see it in IMAX 3D and was not disappointed. The visual affects were better than I anticipated, the acting was very good and as stated above, the story line was simple enough with straight forward good versus evil characters. The women in the movie are all strong characters and equal or better than every male character in every way. This movie is appealing to a wide audience including younger viewers for the si-fi aspect and older viewers of both genders for the visuals as well as the story line. Well worth the cost of admission.

This is not your father's 3D movie. We decided to see the full IMAX 3D version. There were 3 of us, all sci-fi lovers and all 50 years old. We all loved the movie, even though it seemed very much like a common story - think Matrix meets Ewoks. The color and quality are amazing, and even though 2 of us wear glasses, the 3D glasses fit well and comfortably over them. About halfway through the movie you forget it is in 3D - no gratuitous 3D effects! We plan to go back and see this film in the regular 3D and the non 3D versions. I was skeptical - but this movie is a treat! Get there early though - we had to split up as the ticket machine was not working and we had to stand in line anyway.

WOW!!! I am glad I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D. The graphics and special effects were outstanding. I didn't even eat my snacks since I was so caught up in the movie admiring all the 3D scenery and action.

I was skeptical at first, because I had heard the story line and thought it sounded weak. I was wrong, the story was good but the experience of seeing it on the biggest screen in 3D was unbelievable! Me and my two sons were rivited the entire film. It is the absolute best movie watching experience I have ever had. If you like movies, it's a must see!

This movie was amazing when considering the special effects, and it offers a new movie viewing experience. It could be considered ground-breaking; as I was watching it I kept thinking how amazing the special effects were and was comparing it to movies like Jurassic Park and Titanic when they first came out. But the difference was in 3D IMAX! All of the action during the movie did make me feel a little sea sick at times and the storyline was the basic good vs. evil, but overall an experience worth paying for!
