Seeing the movie at the Imax in 3D is a must. It costs a little more, but it is worth it. When it snows you feel like your in it and the characters reach out and grab you. The movie is a little scary for children; I would say under 10. I loved everything about the movie except the 1st ghost, it was not classic Dickens.

Typical Disney- Bent Christmas music- 95% of the movie was violent imagery about Scrooge and 5% or less was how he changed in the end. Many goth overtones. Overall, my wife and I came away depressed. "Happy Holidays" was even said. I think Christmas was said twice- probably as atonement for removing the Cross from the Nordic Church at Epcot, cowardly reacting to Muslim pressure groups. Definitely not a movie for the "whole family".

This is a good retelling of the original story, but it doesn't bring anything more to the table. A few quality jokes are thrown in as well as some interesting character personalities, but otherwise this is a very bland movie.
If you do not watch this in 3D, it honestly is not worth your time. The 3D effects are the best part of this movie: they feel less gimmicky than usual and make the viewing experience interesting.
Great children's film, but as a standalone movie, it's questionable.

Carey works my last nerve...perfect for Scrooge...LOL. He also played all three ghosts too, but he wasn't over the top...his acting was rather natural....shocker. I usually saw the character instead of Carey.
I didn't really want to go. I loved the rich Christian overtones! I mean, that IS want CHRISTmas is about. I'm no Dickens fan, but I teared up a few times. The Ghost of Christmas Past really got to me...it was Carey's acting (the ghost role) on that one...and a few other scenes got to me as well.
I saw it in IMAX 3-D...well worth the cha-ching $13.50 IMNSHO.

Exciting and engaging, the special effects were fantastic. We found several scenes a bit scary for young children, but visually found the film to be outstanding. Comparing it to the Albert Finney classic, we missed some of the scenes and dialogue, but overall enjoyed the film and gave it a solid 4 stars!

My wife and I took our 7-yr old and his friend to see the IMAX 3D version, and all of us were thoroughly entertained. The graphics were outstanding - be ready for a real 'moving' experience. The kids thought some of the scenes were a tad on the scary side, but the look on their faces at the end was pure happiness. I thought it was worth the money and I would even pay to go see it again. It was a nice way to start getting into the Christmas spirit.

The movie was ok per my 9 and 6 year old. The movie emphasised more of a dark theme. They warned there would be scary moments that may not be appropriate but the real issue was the movie was dark. We thought there would more humor and honestly, more of a big ending, Disney style. It was nice to see the movie on IMAX so that you saw the detail of the technology used but not as much in 3D as I hoped. I wouldn't pay the higher cost to see it in 3D.

This movie sucked. It was such a waste. The older movies are better then this movie. The 3D graphics sucked. Paid $27 for 2 adult tickets. I would like to get 4 free movie passes to other moives. Don't waste your time. Wait until it goes to Budget or Blockbuster.

This movie MUST be seen in at least 3D, and IMAX was fantastic. I haven't gotten vertigo like that since i was looking down from the Empire State Building! I took two eight year olds and they were absolutely enthralled and terrified (in a good way) at the same time, but the Olde English needed translation at times. The only drawback was the VERY LAST lines of the movie. I'll let you see for yourself.

My husband and I both really enjoyed this movie. The 3-D effects were well done. They stuck very close to the original movie at least in dialogue. It was a wonderful experience. We thought it might be scary for little ones.
