Watching this in IMAX 3-D was GREAT...we really enjoyed this movie. The use of the Old English tone made it even more Dickensy.... In our opinion it may be a little harsh for the younger children, say 8 and under.....

The movie was great, i thought they did a fantastic job redoing the Dickens classic -however- I found that the lingo was too much in the 'old English' and quite possibly over my Goddaughter's head. There were also some truly frightening parts for her...and me as well (the movie seemed a bit too 'dark' at times). In the end, we both really did enjoy it & thought the actors did a really good job!

Held true to the story, so easy to follow for adults. Younger kids may have some trouble with some of the scarier parts and slow moving scenes. My biggest complaint is not the movie, but the theaters that insist on giving oversized 3D glasses to little kids that can't wear them. I saw the train promo when it came through Denver last year, and was very cool, but again not really geared for the youngsters.

what a rush! movie was true to the book and the effects and soundtrack in imax make it the best movie i've seen in a while but, you need to keep the littlest ones at home as some scenes are quite intense. The movie stuck more to the original book than others I've seen. It is a little dark and scary on some parts (made me jump), and not for young kids, maybe preteen up. The 3D visuals and the animation style makes it worth watching. I saw it on an IMAX screen which made it even better.

Very good movie to see at the imax, however is very intense and can be somewhat scary to smaller children. My 6 year old continued to ask why did they make is scary. Other than that would recommend for preteen and up.

This was my first IMAX movie and the first 3D film I have seen in a long time. It was awesome! Beautifully created, I kept having to stop my self from reaching out to touch part of the film. Some of the animation is so life-like that you will swear that you are looking at an actual person. I would not, however, take young children. There are sequences that could be quite frightening for those under the age of 10.

Very good remake of the movie. 3D effects were very good. The snow flakes seemed to be touching your nose.
The only drawback was with the Grost of Christmas Future. The entire sequence seemed to be designed to show off the 3D capability as opposed to following the clasical story line.
Over all, a great movie and well worth the time and money.

This was my first experience with IMAX 3D and I was a little worried at first. 3D has always made me dizzy before, but this was awesome. No problems at all. This movie's plot and dialogue were, for the most part, true to the book. The animation and special effects were very well done, although the characters' faces seemed a bit bizarre in their appearance.
There are two drawbacks. First of all, the ghost scenes were far too frightening for a family movie. I would caution parents to think twice before bringing any children under 10 to see this.
Secondly, there was far too much time spent showing Scrooge flying over London screaming at the top of his lungs. It reminded me of all those similar scenes in "Snow Dogs".
I also found myself looking at my watch several times during the movie, a definite sign that there were a number of parts that dragged.

Like others have said, the Christmas Carol has been done by so many. But never quite like this. It was truly a Christmas ghost story. Jim Carey did a phenominal job. And the special effects were incredible. This is probably the best version I have ever seen. Each year I have to watch at least one version. This is my all time favorite!

I was a little reluctant to go see this. I have seen "A Christmas Carol" done soooo many times. This is the third by Disney alone. This was an amazing movie. Even better than I expected. I would definately recommend this movie to friends, but I would not suggest taking young children. Parts of the movie can get a little scary.

This movie iis amazing- gotta see it in IMAX/3D! One of best movies we've ever seen-fast paced, clever, done to perfection-a wonderful new version. Scrooge's journey is tense, frightening, yet freshly interpreted-Scr flying, falling, screaming-w a touch of comic relief. It's right when grandkids pick scary scenes as favorites! Run time 1:34-were we short-changed wo 2 hrs-far from it! Not a dull moment-not one! Format-real acting converted to animation-far better than other movies like it. The 3D is clearly improved-crisper & not nearly as tedious on eyes. Carrey & Oldman magnificent-Carrey: Scrooge AND ghost of Christmas Past. A must see!
