This movie's plot and dialogue were, for the most part, true to the book. The animation and special effects were very well done, although the characters' faces seemed a bit bizarre in their appearance.
There are two drawbacks. First of all, the ghost scenes were far too frightening for a family movie. I would caution parents to think twice before bringing any children under 10 to see this.
Secondly, there was far too much time spent showing Scrooge flying over London screaming at the top of his lungs. It reminded me of all those similar scenes in "Snow Dogs".
I also found myself looking at my watch several times during the movie, a definite sign that there were a number of parts that dragged.
Yes, I recommend this movie.
