Loved it!! Saw it 3 times in IMAX the only way to truly appreciate it can't wait til it gets on Blu-ray. Total awesomeness. Unlike other folks I'm glad it was almost 3hrs long the first one was too short this was just right.

It is exactly what you'd expect from a sequel. I loved the first one, so they got my money for the 2nd one too. It lacked the basics of a story and over-compensated with action, action, digital action! But on the same hand that digital action is what we liked the first time 'round. It was long but none the less entertaining. The cars were my favorite part. I would not spend the money to see it again.

I thought the movie was great. The story seemed to pick up right where the last movie left off and the end of the movie still left enought to where there may be another sequel to this great movie. If you thought one hot chick was enought on the last movie, try TWO HOT CHICKS on this one! I just wish the socond chick was'nt a robot nor dead so quick into the movie. I saw it in IMAX and that made the entire movie experience a whole lot better.

Took my two grandsons to the IMAX version of this because I took them to see the first one. I had heard this one was even better than the first...I DO NOT AGREE!! I THINK SOME OF THE SCENES DRAGGED ON A BIT TOO MUCH...I LOST INTEREST IN IT. I'll never go to the IMAX version of anything anymore because it's much too noisy. I think the first movie was better. It got so-o-o boring my 9 yr. old grandson fell asleep.

I went with my husband (a childhood fan of the action figures and cartoon) and our three children and every one of us were riveted to the screen, including my 2 year old son. The story is more involved and the action is out of this world! I can't wait for another!

Do you want loud, bone-crushing action and slow motion, scantily-clad shots of Megan Fox??? Then this movie is for you! I more than got my money's worth on IMAX as well. Certainly the best way to see an action movie.
HOWEVER, the plot (or lack thereof) wandered off the path so many times, and when I thought it was going to end, it didn't, so it left me scratching my head for the last 45 minutes. And the "cheese" factor was VERY high. The emotional scene with Sam and Bumblebee, and the scene with Sam meeting the Primes was as corny as you can get!! Not enough cheese for you? Don't worry, there's plenty more to go around.
Overall, Megan Fox hot. Transformers 2 not. And now I am deaf.

It doesnt have the magic the first one had, but it really ramps up the action. The only one slow part is where they squeeze the plot in. Great summer film. Check your brain at the door and buckle up for a great ride!

Should have taken it off the editors desk about 1/2 hour early and cut out the scenes where the screen was just a blob of color for minutes on end and cut the volume down a bit as not to wash out the movie. Could have been a lot better movie, just way too "over Baked!"

Did we all see the same movie? After having read most of the reviews on this film, it has occurred to me that many of the "reviewers" wouldn't know a good film if it fell out of the sky, landed on their face, and began to wiggle! Transformers 2 was a great collaboration of amazing special effects, witty humor, and a story line that keeps the viewer glued to the big screen. In short, it was a refreshing escape from the harsh realities of todays high-stress life. Dear Mr. Bay - Keep 'em coming! We give this film two thumbs and a big toe up!

The movie is ok - if you're willing to forgive the cheesy "love" scenes, other miscellaneous cheesy scenes, and the fact that the plot has too many holes. The story is weak and predictable. The movie doesn't build any sense of suspense or drama. It just blows things up. I think they made the movie super loud to distract the audience from how bad the movie is. John Turturro was good - but he's about the only good thing in the movie.

It seemed to me that the creators of the movie tried so hard to make a movie that was really 'AWESOME' and in doing so, forgot to make a movie that was actually any good. The story is not very good and is full of plot holes. The action, which could have made up for the bad story, basically consisted of marines shooting at dust clouds that sometimes revealed the giant robots inside. There were a couple of good robot on robot fights but on the whole, the fight scenes were either too short, or just consisted of something blowing up. The original cast of robots didn't have nearly enough screen time, and even the new robots didn't appear very much. The IMAX experience was very cool, but the movie itself was not very good.

IMAX experience OUTSTANDING....Although I must admit the special effects were great, I was disappointed with storyline. But you know it is what it is! The Jr bots, Skids & Mudflap, as Bay described them could have been left out, as they added nothing to plot & were not funny. Got all the action, explosions & battles that I hoped for but resurrecting Megatron fully assembled and firing at our armed soldiers..... come on ! My 4 yr old son clearly pointed out "Mom , that's not right his leg was broken!" and he was also disappointed at the end when they just leave. The sexu@l innuendo & Megan Fox character is overdone, but hey my husband was happy.....I could have waited for DVD!!

I loved the first movie and had high hopes for this one. I was a little disappointed. But the IMAX Experience made up for the weakness in plot. Whenever things got a little silly I'd just stare at the fabulous picture quality. I was a little surprised at the size of the screen - it was much smaller than the IMAX planetariums I'm used to, but it was still beautiful to watch. In general, it was a good way to spend a couple of hours on a summer night, but if you are looking for anything more than great special effects, look elsewhere.

Overall the film was very entertaining. Lots of action and surprisingly funny. The twins and RC stole the movie, with the twins having some of the best lines.
I was surprised at some of the language in the movie, not that any of it offended me, just surprised. For a film with an appeal to children under 13 I didn't expect it.
As far as IMAX is concerned, save your money. I did not see any significant difference in IMAX.
2 1/2 hours is a long time to spend sitting in a movie theater. The movie had good flow throughout and kept the viewer involved. But 2 1/2 hours is too long; add that bucket the theaters call a "medium" drink to the mix, and biological needs quickly arise.

I went into this film after reading reviews from friends I trusted, so I knew it was going to be bad but I really liked the first movie, so I needed to watch this one. I also knew that I had to see it on the biggest screen with the best sound system I could find (IMAX is almost as good as the hype).
The robot fighting is very cool. Everything else about the film could be used as an example of bad movie making.

If you're someone who craves non-stop action, then this is the film for you. It seemed like there was no more than ten minutes at most between any of the action scenes. The script was ok, but the plot was a little convoluted. Acting was about what you would expect for a film of this type. Of course who really cares since the true stars were the robots. My only real complaint was that it was too long by about a half hour. Next time around, they should keep it to two hours max.

I got what I expected. An action packed, sci-fi thriller with a lot of special effects and a hot guy and girl. I wasn't expecting a drama that was going to make me cry. It was a great movie! Only thing is that it is difficult to see who the bad guys are vs the good guys. Other than that I enjoyed it!

Michael Bay blows up a lot of stuff, lots of things go flying around and (oh yeah) the main characters are in danger. It's a lot like the original Transformers only the surprise is missing. What plot there is can be easily guessed but that really isn't the point of this movie. This movie is action, action, and then more action.
I only wish the good guys (or transformers) and the bad guys would wear different colors or uniforms. It is very difficult to tell who is crushing who.
IMAX was good but it certainly was the smallest IMAX screen I've seen.
Finally, did anyone else notice that despite car crashes, flying sand, flying debris and many other possible dangers, Megan Fox's face *never* gets a single nick or cut?

Let me start off by saying the first movie was great with plenty of genuine laughs and action. The sequel which to my amazement was partly directed by Steven Spielberg, started off good but started sinking after the first encounter of the even loonier parents of Witwicki which try to get laughs by any means necessary. The plot was ridiculous and truly dumb, something a first grader would think of.
Talk about action! The IMAX is a thrilling experience, but the movie needed a better direction, instead of aggression with no true meaning to the agenda. Way too long. Megan Fox and the new lady is worth the watch though, too bad that is it!
