i found this movie to be really moving and overall a great movie. I was at first worried about Anna Kendrick's role because i never saw her as a wonderful actress in the twilight saga, but I found everyone's acting in this movie to be real and quite wonderful. I'd see it again and again. Loved it.

I thought this was a very good movie. I liked the storyline, and the acting was fanastic! I especially liked the timing of the movies release considering the economy. It shows the honest emotion that people face people getting laid off, or fired. Good ending considering some of the games people play...it shows people that somtimes situations in life are not always what they seem. I would watch it again, and I recommend this movie highly.

Having found the book to be terrific it was disappointing to see that the movie bore no resemblance to the story in the book. It was not nearly as interesting as the book version but was somewhat entertaining. My enjoyment of movies is closely tied to the appropriateness of casting and believability of dialogue. Up In The Air creates credible chemistry among its three principal characters and the dialogue fairly crackles as each one stays in character throughout. The story line is simplistic, but well timed. Corporate downsizing is in full bloom in America as the country slips down from its dominant position, and this creates an opportunity to display the shallow comforts of a slick player in the downsizing game. If there were six stars to give, I'd gladly award them to Up In The Air.

Interesting premise, although kind of dark and dreary even with a somewhat positive message. Clooney (who I have not always enjoyed) was good and deserves recognition. With so many other good movies out right now I would not advise anyone to put this one at the top of their list … not a “must see”, but good entertainment if you can deal with the dark side of modern business practice especially in today’s environment.

Various life messages interwoven throughout the entire movie and done so well that just when you thought you knew what the outcome was going to be, you are surprised. Humor, sadness, compassion, and even tragedy are displayed but not dwelt upon to the point where each becomes ineffective at getting the point across. Stereo-types are even reversed but done so quickly and artfully that it doesn't come across as trying to be a supporter of one or the other. The timing was good. The movie moved along so that you didn't find your mind wandering or wishing for the next scene. All around good entertainment.

This movie is probably not for 20 somethings. There was a point in the movie where the two older main characters counseled the 20-something "wunderkid" who had just had a bad breakup. The gist of the converstation was that people have a much different perspective on things when they are 25 than they have when they're in their 40s or 50s. The things that are so critical when you're 15 to 30 seem minor when you can see your children going through them.
And that's what this movie was about, perspectives and how our perspectives change given changing circumstances, age and experience. That sort of thing sounds slow and boring to a 25 year old.
I would recommend this movie to people over 40, for the most part. Its not for kids.

i wasn't to sure about seeing this movie but my girlfriend said lets try it out. At first it started out slow and then had some funny parts. But i just feel like there was a lot of boring scenes with nothing really happening. I thought the movie had many times to doing something different than what the storyline actually did, but it just stayed slow and really in my opinion JUST BORING. I would not recommend seeing this movie at all. Not even if it was for free on demand or something.. i truly fell asleep for a few minutes towards the end . I liked just about everything in this movie...acting, story, character development, direction...even the song from the closing credits was perfect. It's a very "real" story. I felt like I either was or knew all the characters. Up In The Air was very down to earth. (Sorry, I couldn't pass that one up.)

about UP IN THE AIR ....after viewing the movie, our response was....what WAS that? we were perplexed... this is the same movie we read about with its rave reviews? ....wow....it's a puzzle! definitely not deserving of the accolades in our opinion. from the story to the acting, including clooney, the movie is rather unremarkable.
